Highest Quality OTF under $200
What a nice knife! I love it. Built like a tank and fires like a rocket. Locks up rock solid. Mine came sharp as sin. I'm blown away by the quality fit and finish of this knife. I've had mine for about 4 months and it's taken a beating. I've actually never had a misfire. That's pretty dang good! The button and body shape feel great in the hand. Highly recommend this akc evo! solid and overbuilt. Awesome OTF.
Thanks!
Don't waist your money
Don't waist your money on a 300 dollar otf from microtec or hogue if you want a good otf daily use knife there is no perceivable difference in speed and blade play the akc may even be better, now having said that if your a collector like me than obviously you must have the afore mentioned high end toys there awesome! Just my opinion
Great knife at its price point
You really cant beat the value on this knife. Action is great and snappydeploys and retracts with authority. Yes, it does have more blade play than my Microtechs but it is 1/3 to 1/5 the cost depending upon the MT model. Comfortable in the hand, you wont be afraid to carry and use the AUS8 blade instead of having another safe Queen. Speaking of great knives for the money, AKCs F16… read more is another great value. Yes, the casing is bare bones and the steel is 440, but the action is great for a 60 dollar knife. Really impressed with this brand as far as bang for the buck. This is the kind of knife that you buy an extra just in case they stop making it or you lose or break your own. Lets see how well they hold up over time.but early on, great blades!
Decent OTF
Over all I like this knife. Very decent for the price point and great lower price option for those who want and OTF without spending lots off money.
Here it is:
1. Beautiful design ( great ergos)
2. Great aluminum handle
3. Good blade shape and decent blade coating
4. Great action . Little gritty at first but broke in nicely.
5. As with any OTF their…

is blade play , this one has just a little too much for me , but it is expected .
Very high quality
Very high quality for the money. I'm blown away by how nice these are for 100 bucks. Good in every way (and I own several Microtech OTFs). Buy with confidence
Thanks
Literally way way better than I could have ever imagined.
So I ordered this and was really skeptical and almost canceled my order because I thought it didn't come with a pocket clip, however I was pleasantly surprised when I received my knife and saw it was the newer version WITH a pocket clip!!!! XD Also, the green color is much darker than the picture which is amazing IMO, I was afraid it would be a "grass green" as it is shown in the… read more picture, but it is waaayyyy better looking than the picture, it is a darker "master chief" green. Overall 10/10, would order again.
Decent knife, Made in Taiwan
I have several AKC knive they are all quite functional and reliable. The same is true with this knife. Seems well made, action and lock up are good.
Insane value.
This is my first OTF and it might very well be my last. Not because it is bad, but because I don't think I need anything more than this. The build quality is amazing and the tolerances are on the level of some of my $300 knives. If you ever wondered what a Protech double-action OTF would be like if it existed, just buy this knife.
The action on this knife is absolutely fantastic.…

The deployment and retraction kick like a mule and makes a satisfying ka-chunk noise. It doesn't sound tinny at all. The solid aluminum chassis probably plays into that. The button is raised and moves smoothly over the body without any kind of grinding or marring whatsoever. Even though the button is raised away from the body there is no wiggle at all. The action after a couple hundred fires doesn't feel any different, but the button feels a bit smoother, which is a positive. You have to press firmly on the button (can be done easily with either my right or left hand) and the travel before deployment is about 3/4 of an inch. Any concerns I had about carrying an OTF in my pocket are completely gone. There is no way this could ever misfire.
The blade play on this OTF is well within the range of using it for an EDC knife to break down boxes or whittle wood. I don't have any other OTFs to compare to, but after hearing about all the blade play concerns with OTFs, I am guessing they have to be way worse than this one. I can't really consider this a con, that's how good it is.
The AUS-8 steel is what it is. It sharpens up nice (yes, I sharpened the other side of the dagger because I hate myself) and because I won't be using this for any hard work it is more than sufficient.
The only real con with this knife is the pocket clip. This is the only part that doesn't feel Protech-ish in nature. It is not a deep carry, which isn't the end of the world, but the ramp on it is a bit too aggressive. It tends to poke at my wrists a bit when I carry this knife in my pocket. In hand though, it is fine and doesn't create any hotspots. I might look to replace this at some point with a custom clip, that's how much I like this knife.
I did have one of the screws toward the front wiggle loose after a hundred fires or so, but I went back and tightened and loctited all the screws and have not had any issues since. I have a feeling they just weren't fully tightened when I got the knife.
Close to perfect
1. Blade has issues retracting fully when knife is straight tip down.
2.The front 'swell' for the finger isn't right. The rear curve pushes into heal of hand. I feel like the design was made in CAD?CAM using a simple tool and they didn't actually try it out.
3. No clip and no screw holes on the correct side to install one.
4. Don't see how to remove blade?
5. 'Center…

lever' knifes to me scream for a dagger point. The center slider makes them ambidextrous, make the blade too.
On the plus side, not horribly expensive, locks up tight. Seems well built. Finish is tough, blade is sharp.
Fix the shape a bit, could be a bit thinner, and add a clip, or the ability to add a clip to keep the sticker price down and you'd have a heck of a knife. As is, it's pretty good for the price point,
Beautiful if what you are looking for...
This is a beautiful knife but reluctantly I decided to return it because I bought it to use for my non dominant hand and I found the activation slide to be too stiff for me. But having said that, it is a nice knife if it is the type you are looking for. The activation was consistent, the blade was sharp and the handle was beautiful and the egos were good. As always BHQ is one of… read more my favorite resources to purchase knives from (I collect knives and have a lot of them at many prince points up to about $300).
Affordable OTF
I wanted to add an OTF to my collection. I did not want to spend a fortune on one, so I landed on the AKC X-treme EVO OTF. I am pleased with my purchase. The blade deploys quickly and reliably. Of course the blade is AUS-8, the handle is painted aluminum and there is blade play but all is to be expected from this type of knife. This is a toy; fun to play with, open letters and cut… read more a little cardboard, but I'm not gonna carry it around. I'd recommend if you just want an OTF knife to play with and don't want to break the bank. It has yet to fail to deploy.
A new knife for my wife
My wife picked this knife to add to her EDC collection. I think that it was the color that caught her eye at first but after she after she had it in her hand her smile was really something to see. I'm glad that we live in a state that allows this type of knife to be carried. The quality of the knife is great and its also beautiful to look at. This is her third OTF knife.
Very nice. Great buy
I love this OTF
Made with quality materials and the tolerances are damned near zero
Great action every time
Feels great in the hand. Looks great. And a fantastic EDC.
Absolutely love it !!!
Best OTF on AKC's lineup.
this is a little more than double the price of an F-16, but it's still perfect if you want a relatively cheap OTF, but with more style and value than an F-16, but don't want to shell out microtech or benchmade money.
Great Value
Very nice OTF , perfect anodizing , no rattle or blade movement in or out . Solid feel, positive functioning of action . Great value for the money , handle edges a little sharp and no clip but at this price point very acceptable.
