Checks off most boxes, but not a critical one

First, the good…incredible design aesthetics, razor sharp blade, blade flips open easily, ambidextrous, great brass scales that will patina beautifully in time, and fits well in hand.

Now, the bad…The manufacturer cut corners on this liner lock. After putting significant effort into designing a beautiful knife, they installed a cheap and untrustworthy liner lock.

If read more Boker and other knife producers insist on manufacturing their products in China and other low labor cost countries, they need to make sure high quality manufacturing standards are not the first casualties they have repeatedly proven to be. Otherwise, they greatly diminish their brand, the knife industry, knife retailers (like Blade HQ), and the market.

This knife taught me a valuable lesson. Lipstick on a pig will never change the fact that you’re still dealing with a pig. Chinese-made knives are a buyer beware proposition, EVEN when they wear U.S./European lipstick…uh, branding.

My most carried

This is great for the office. The action is nice. The vg10 is great. The blade stock being nice and thin makes this a great slicer.

I removed the lanyard first day, with the deep carry pocket clip it was weird to just have that little bit stick out.

The brass wears in nicely giving it an understanding warm look.

My only complaint is is how often the bolster read more screws loosen out of the liners. Every 3-4 months this knife needs disassembled to have the bolster screws re-tightened.

Great EDC

Picked this up during knife week sale. I love it. The brass is a nice touch, I am already getting a bit of a patina. plade is sharp, flip is smooth. Over all great knife for my EDC.
It is my first true 'flipper' knife, so it took a minute to get used to it, but I like that it can be ambidextrous with the flip.
I may end up making a slip sheath for it, as I am not a fan of read more tip up blades, ( I had a bad experience once) but the clip and leather lanyard are nice.
Might have to get onein copper next!

Classy Carry.

Beautiful brass scales, double flipper fit and finish are perfect. VG-10 with deep pocket carry, such a great knife; can't wait to see how it patina's in time.

Had to have it!

When I didn't have to carry a handgun for work anymore, I really had no reason to keep buying them. I actually didn't need 8 for my job. Then I bought 7 or 8 knives from an unnamed manufacturer. Then I saw an ad for Blade HQ. Then I looked at their website. Now I have a new bad habit. I have wanted something in brass for lord only knows what reason. When I saw the Kansei I thought, read more "this will do nicely". And it has. It's not a box cutter, but it is incredibly sharp. It fits nicely in a pocket because it is so slim. Some people have complained about the brass tarnishing. I actually wanted a tarnished brass knife. It opens smoothly, but I particularly like the fact it closes so easily. Great knife. And what is with the delivery time. Everyone else is saying due to COVID-19, there will be delays in shipping. I have purchased 5 knives since April. They have all arrived in 3 days. All of them were sent USPS and not FedEx or UPS. I would say this is the best knife I have purchased from Blade HQ, but they are all wonderful. I gotta get out of here before I buy something else.

Nice knife, but not flawless.

I really like the shape and design of this knife. It came extremely sharp, and the brass makes it look quite classy. Carries very discretely and you hardly notice it in the pocket.

A few flaws, though. First, the opening mechanism is OK, but action is a bit tough, and it does rub your thumb raw if you want something to fidget with. Second, I took the leather "lanyard" off read more because it looked a bit tacky. But the brass lanyard hole does not have the same patina/wash as the rest of the knife, making it a little uneven. Finally, brass will develop a patina and darken, but with a stainless pocket clip, the area under and around the clip will not patina as much, making for an uneven look.

These things are mostly aesthetic and don't interfere with he function of the knife. As a slicer and a gentlemanly tool, it's a great knife.

Sunday knife

This is a classy blade that can be carried on casual Friday or wherever you may be headed on Sunday. It won't evoke screams of terror from non-knife folks and will probably be a conversation starter because of the lovely brass scales. The blade is thin and sharp, and while it isn't likely to handle any heavy-duty tasks, it is perfect for savaging open that Amazon box or a stubborn read more bag of chips. Front and rear flipper options make this a fine fidget knife, but the short flipper can be a bit uncomfortable after many flips. Very happy with my purchase.

Bought for a Gent

Bought to be a gentleman folder, due to it's slim nature. I bought this version although it may not blend in quite as well due to the deep carry pocket clip.

I had read some reviews of rough edges/sharp corners on other versions, the brass scales I would say have the same feel they described. But I feel it'd only matter if you were using your knife for hard tasks and it's read more not really made for that kind of work anyhow.

The blade is thin and light, comes sharp and flips with ease. The front flipper is a bit of sharp with it's slightly scooped design, but it's done this way to keep it low profile which I am fine with and it doesn't bother my thumb much. If all you are going to do is fidget all day with a front flipper I am sure it'd lead to irritation.

Wonderful little knife. All the cons people have had with this line, I find to not be an issue, at least with this brass scale release.

Nice Kansei

Nice Boker. Great VG-10 blade steel. Sleek design, deep carry pocket clip. This brass version is the only one with a deep carry clip. It does tarnish and it is a bit heavy but still really like this brass.
