Mark Nevling, the craftsman and creator of Burr Oak Knives, discovered his enthusiasm for knife-making in 1987 when he cReated his first knife. He has continued in perfecting his work since that time, now as a full-time maker with a skill set that is evidenced in the exemplary Knives he produces. Mark Nevling is also a volunteer firefighter and a certified first responder in Hume, Illinois; this gives him working knowledge of the particular needs of these professionals.The Viper folder is a tasteful mix of materials with a high level of refinement that will find a welcome place in any fine collection. The MODified drop point style blade is clay hardened W2 steel with a swedge spine, thumb stud opener on front and stamped "Burr Oak Nevling" on back. The handle features carbon fiber bolsters and red/black dyed burlap Micarta over titanium liners, with lock tab. This knife comes with a signed certifiCATe of authenticity, dated 4/28/14.
