ABSOLUTELY SAWHEET KNIFE!!!

I agonized over ordering this thing...."it's not really a Spydero," "what if it's a poor rendering?" What if it's flimsy...?"
Well, I just got it...sliced into the box using my Spyderco Endura 4 and out popped the signature green and black Byrd box! "byrd knife" is all lower case, and smaller than "Spyderco" on its signature red and black box just so you don't forget it's inferior read more to the Spyderco....only, I can't tell the difference! I know there is one, my Endura 4 cost a pants soaking $90 bucks to this Cara Cara Rescue 2 at $34, but other than that...okay, maybe the action is a bit stiffer out of the green and black box, but this is a really super knife! The blade is "abc steel" or something, fully serrated and ready to go strap cutting! Thumb-opening is a delight with strong and weak hand, and that's without a drop of added oil. The international orange scales are extremely crisp with bright, polished stainless steel pocket clip and screw-rivets. I can peep down in the blade slot and see the steel liner just like a "real" Spyderco, and according to all the online sources I've viewed it uses the phosphor-bronze washers to help blade movement.
The blade locks up solid without movement.
I know this is the "budget" version of Spyderco, but I suspect it's the real value leader in the line! Time will tell.

Clean cutting, safe poking, fully serrated value king

Bought this and a deep carry clip (which *almost* cost as much as this knife) to use for left pocket EDC carry... wanted something fully serrated for left-handed operation/carry, so lock back fit the bill. Right pocket is for plain edge carry.

Likes:
1. serrations almost out to the very rounded tip, they cut so cleanly, I've been using it for food prep a lot.
2. clip read more pattern same as most Spyderco knives, able to use Endura/Delica deep carry clip.
3. great action for a lock back, heavier blade makes it almost drop-shutty.
4. fits my bear sized hands well, whether using or not using forward finger choil.
5. you can't beat the value-for-price ratio! Not perfect, but oh-so-functional.

Dislikes:
1. thumb ramp could use a couple more rows of jimping.
2. it fills your pocket a fair amount, pretty tall width-wise.
3. byrd comet hole is nowhere near as comfortable when deploying as round Spyderco hole, but JB Weld is your friend!
