My first Civivi!

I heard such good things about civivi that I had to pick one up! I love everything about the knife, the micarta scales, the blade steel, and the action is amazing! 10/10

Love this knife

What a great knife! My favorite part is rubbing my fingers on the smooth canvas micarta scales and it just fits perfectly in the hand and flicks open as smooth as butter. For the price it looks and feels like a much more expensive knife.. I'll be buying more Civiv in the future.

Almost - but not the black stonewashed blade

Just got this, and it's almost perfect. Very sharp, love S35. Silky smooth as expected from Civivi. I like that there is a cutout to access the liner lock, unlick the Pilar I just got. No lock stick, easy to deploy either way (stud or flipper).

Micarta looks great, but as others noted it has a different feel. On my Feldspar, I feel more of the resin (I think). This has a read more brushed finish, so I think I feel more of the canvas (or whatever the base material is for micarta). Rubbing a finger on it, it feels slicker. But when holding the knife for work, it provides plenty of grip.

My only negative is the black stonewashed blade. I thought it would be similar to the black blade on my Griptilian, but it's not. Seems more like a phosphate finish, so it shows everything and always looks smudged. I'm experimenting with cleaning and treatments to remedy this. My recommendation would be go with the satin finished blade, and this would be the perfect EDC.

I finally got a Pintail. Wow.

I got my first CIVIVI and it was the Pintail. Dang. The first flip revealed what all the hype is about. About fifty fidgets later and the blade began to articulate with the buttery smoothness that everyone raves about. I am a believer...to the dismay of my wallet.

The S35VN is very thin and sliced an orange, cheese and cardboard (in that order) with ease, out of the box. read more The black stonewash coating mixed with the dark green Micarta looks fantastic! (Is it me but does BladeHQ call everything stone wash, even if it’s bead blasted or satin?)

I picked the Pintail over the Elementum for the ergonomic shape and the flexibility of the thumb studs and in hand, I’m happy that I did.

Speaking of the Micarta, this is my one disappointment, it looks great but it’s very smooth. It’s as smooth as carbon fiber thus not as grippy as I had hoped. This fact makes me even happier that I got the Pintail shape with the added finger notch.

If you don’t have a CIVIVI, get one. You want one. You need one. If you have an Elementum, you will like having a Pintail, too.

Okay, time to wrap this up so I can search the site for my next CIVIVI...

I wanted a knife like my Elementum but with better ergonomics. This is an excellent slicer and fits medium to small hands beautifully, with nicely contoured micarta. The action is superb and the materials are very good, the micarta is smooth but more resistant to stains. The Pintail is a perfect EDC.
