The knife I recommend

Pedro H.

When people ask me what knife they should get the Praxis is the answer they will get, I love this knife it’s one of my favorites the action is tremendously smooth I got no blade play and it was sharp right out of the box if you are looking for a knife that works and is light but not in a cheap kind of way get this! It’s the knife I recommend to people when they tell me “nice read more knife I’ve been thinking about buying one” and I just stop them and say get the Civivi Praxis. Also the blue on the picture is way more deeper than the one in the actual knife but other than that it’s an absolute winner.

Great large option for the price

I lean toward smaller knives generally, but wanted a beefier option that I could use and abuse without feeling too bad. The Praxis is the perfect solution. It feels great in my medium size hands and the price is right.

Not the Klingon moon PRAXIS

What a surprise in this Praxis release.
The tall flat grind on this is begging for kitchen use. Just under four inches makes the blade appear huge. Absolutely spot on technical fit and finish. Bonus for me I ordered a Orange one and was delighted to see the stainless steel liners and lock were anodized Orange as well the back spacer.
$42.50 this is a must have no brainer.

Smooth Flipper

JAMES C.

I wasn't expecting how ergonomic and comfortable the grip was, and came extra sharp. Fits my palm perfectly even though it's on the large side. I haven't had a flipper this size before so opening it, though smooth is a bit to get used to. Overall great value.

This knife would be a bargain at twice the price. Opens and drops shut smoothly and the Damascus blade looks exactly like the Damasteel blades that come on the more expensive knives. My only regret is they are now sold out as my wife now wants one too. Thank you Blade HQ for pricing this superior knife so competitively.

Bigger than anticipated!

This knife was a bit bigger than I thought it would be when I ordered it. Although I tend to like smaller knives, this one feels great. Smooth action, sharp blade out of the package and a very comfortable grip. The knife feels solid too...hard to find a better knife at the price.

Probably the $42 knife of the decade...

I've bought 7 different Civivi's and this one melds the best of all of them.
Pros: Incredible action on bearings, perfectly centered blade, hand ergos in league with my ZT0562, the beautiful satin steel is excellently balanced between edge retention/stainlessness/sharpenability, the high flat grind is amazing with a beautiful swedge that swoops from thumb jimping all the way read more to tip

Cons: The 3.75" blade makes it outside legal pocket carry boundaries where I live... But design-wise I love the blade length, so really the con is for the dumb law.

I bought the younger sibling Baklash to get within the 3.5" limit of my state...but it just wasn't the same, so I gave it away. This Praxis is difficult to find flaw with, and the price is ridiculously low - get one now.

Brilliant, as usual

As usual, CIVIVI knock it out of the park. The blade has a lovely almost leaf shape to it. Came razor sharp. Only small complaint is after cleaning off the lade with a bit of mineral spirits, they got on the handle a bit and tarnished the purple finish. Oh, and will companies start saying what TWO steels are used for the Damascus please?

Outstanding!

The CIVIVI Praxis, is a beautiful knife. This knife is very well made and I love the size vs the weight. I guess there are lighter knives but I have not ventured into the land of expensive knives yet. I absolutely love the thin blade for slicing.

Superb knife especially for the price

The knife came fairly sharp but I did have to strop it to get it really sharp. Dont know how well the blade will hold its edge but I do like the feel in the hand and love the weight......great pocket knife. I removed the accursed clip, always do..and I hope that I have finally withdrawn from carrying my overly heavy 28 year old Buck 110..though that trusty old knife will always read more have a place in my heart..and it was made by humans in America!!

Excellent Budget Knife

Liam M.

This is a really good budget option that I would recommend to anyone. It's more comfortable in the hand than a Spyderco Tenacious, and there is no assist to break as in the Kershaw Cryo. On the matter of the assist, this knife doesn't have one, but as the detent is near perfect, it would be very hard to tell. The only gripes I have with this knife is that mine didn't come razor read more sharp, and the jimping on the flipper tab is a bit aggressive. I did a lot of research before purchasing this knife, and I can honestly say I do not regret it in the slightest.

Sweet Knife

For the money this is a great knife. Opens real smooth. Even came with a nice case. Will buy CIVIVI again!

Good, a couple of nitpicks.

Tristan B.

I know at the 40 dollar price point, I don't really have the right to nitpick, but I'm going to anyway.
No tip down. It is left hand reversible though. I would wager that there are more people who prefer tip down than there are people who left carry.
I wish the liner lock was a little less stiff.
Wish the jimping went a little bit further up on the blade.
42 bucks read more though, can't have everything. Great knife for the money, can't complain too much.

Damascus

Cory Y.

This was my first Civivi and I was very happy to receive a good full sized knife with a damascus blade that is very affordable. This was also my first damascus blade. Id say this knife is able to fit everyones hands from large to small. The added large finger choil assists in choking up on the blade to help with finer cuts. The action is very smooth and I love the Civivi deep carry read more pocket clips. love this knife

This is my first Civivi so I didn't know what to expect although from what I have read and heard my expectations were a little higher. I just started to carry it and it doesn't disappoint. It is a smooth action flipper and is a substantial blade size. It is a larger knife than I am used to carrying but now I am getting used to carrying a larger knife! I love it.

Remarkable quality

i wasn't very drawn to civivi knives when i first saw them. there are a lot of flipper knives in this price range and i thought the civivis were a little bland. but when this damascus version came out i had to give it a try. i am so glad i did! the quality is immediately apparent once you get the knife in hand. it just feels premium. the damascus is gorgeous while still being a read more completely functional knife. it's a great medium to large knife for edc that is a tad classier. a great buy!

US vs China Competition

Maxim P.

I don't own this specific knife, I have Cordovan and Backlash. And I think that American knife makers cannot beat this Chinese quality to price ratio. Labor is too expensive in the US. If the Chinese will keep focusing on the quality, they will beat us. I'd love to support the US manufacturers, but at the price of paying $150 for the knife of the quality equal to this?.. Something read more has to be done about this, or we'll lose. Not just in the knife industry.

Beautifully done beast of a knife.

When I first viewed this knife I knew I would purchase it and It is large enough to fill my big hands, now I want to get a smaller Civivi McKenna knife and a Civivi Backlash knife. The Damascus is beautifully shined and I think I will have this knife for years to come. I'm also looking at the Civivi Naja. Civivi is a budget friendly and overall quality knife from are friends in read more China.

Nailed the Execution and feeling in hand. Melting over here.

This knife is buttery when it slides open and has good detent with a smooth trail the entire time while opening. So buttery I could have made toast... I’m drooling a little bit as open and close this flipper constantly. Tan matches the gold perfectly without looking tacky or flashy and shines in your hand without “bannering” at all. There isn’t one logo or name on this knife read more aside from the “c” on one side— nothing on the lads (perfect for a little engraving or quote that might need some real estate on a gorgeous looking knife). The little bit black zippered sheath/carrying case and the cloth just shows their attention to both detail, and to their customer. I ordered an Aquila as well and no I can’t wait for it as this is my first time being able to touch a civivi in hand. I have many flippers that I thought were too good to get better but this has made one handed opening and closing on a well sized knife easy and fun to do. I feel like this knife won’t scare grandma, and sits deep carry with tan and some gold and can be mistaken for a pen in my pantsuit pocket each day. Can’t wait for the next string, package, or any unnecessary need for this knife I might find... time to get creative and find something that needs to be cut. BladeHQ — on point my brothers and thanks for being here (with quality and consistency) for my addiction and for my fellow collectors! For this money, I’m going to hit the “move to cart” link a couple times because this feels better than some of the $150 (+) knives that I’ve opened and closed— best deal I’ve found in a while. This will make me feel happy every time I open and close it. Gushing over here.

Love it! New standard for the price point!

Civivi continues to impress me. I got the Backlash a few weeks ago and loved it. Couldn’t believe how smooth the action was and really everything about it. So I ordered the Praxis with high expectations and they were exceeded. Perfect ergos, perfect blade centering, and the Praxis came even sharper than the Backlash. I’m talking “hair popping” sharp. This and a $100 plus read more Benchmade are the 2 sharpest knives out of the box I’ve ever received. Plus you still get a sweet zip up carry case and micro fiber cleaning cloth. Just AMAZING value at an almost unbelievable price. Also a BIG thank you to BHQ. I ordered it on Friday and received it on a Monday all the way from Utah to Arkansas. You guys are the best, I wouldn’t buy a blade anywhere else!

Great knife!

So I've only had my praxis for about 13 hours but I've decided I had to share how much I love it. Although I don't have much experience with 9cr18mov I hear it's very similar to VG-10. which is pretty good for a $42 knife. Ergos and fit and finish are basically perfect (what I've started to expect from WE knives). I personally like the overall aesthetic of the knife, especially read more the blade, which is totally clean with the exception of a microscopic steel marking. In conclusion I say if your on the fence get down off it, come inside, get on BHQ and order this knife. P.S. Stay off the fence, the neighbors already think your crazy as they watch you constantly cut up cardboard and water bottles with your 30+ knives you try to convince your wife you need. Thx BHQ for making knife addiction a little easier to accept and be proud of ;)

Great knife for the price.

Boy you get a lot of knife for the price. The ergos are great. Centering is perfect and no blade play. The things cuts like a knife. And it feels so right. All around perfect knife for this price.

Is it good? Yes.

Ashkan E.

Pros: Excellent action both on deployment and closing. Comfortable handle, good weight, good size, good steel(relative to the cost), deep carry clip.

Cons: Lockbar access is a little cramped for me which makes closing the knife pretty uncomfortable, the finger choil is small enough that I don't feel safe using it with my sausage fingers.

But my biggest "con" isn't read more really the knife's fault it's an excellent knife I think most people would be happy with it as their daily carry but it's pushed by people as the greatest thing since sliced bread or the most exceptional budget knife ever and I dunno for me it's just another good knife. I think if you don't expect it to be anything special you'll be very happy with it.

Perfect!

A great knife at a outstanding price. The form, fit, function and action are unbelievable for a budget line. Chia has definitely up its game. American knife manufacturers should take notes. If you are hesitant about buying and knife from China, don’t be this brand great.as always great prices, CS and Shipping at BHQ Thanks guys

This knife is Totally awesome. The blade thwacks open with authority and retracts beautifuly. The Blade came wicked sharp and slices like butter. However, perhaps the best thing about the praxis is actually the ergonomics, which are 10/10 for me. At this price I highly recommend!

Great First Carry Knife!!!

Shrey P.

This was my first knife. I am 17 and i finally convinced my parents to buy me this knife for my birthday. This has been my carry knife for 3 months now and I LOVE IT! The blade shape is nice and aesthetically pleasing, it is a great slicer for food prep to deconstructing packaging. The gold liners look cheap to some other people but to me personally I think that they add a nice read more touch, I would even consider carrying this knife with a suit. The pocket clip is deep carry and it is solid. The knife is very easy to open and clean. If I were to change anything on this knife it would be to be able to buy black G-10 with red liners. That would be the perfect knife. Overall 9.5/10 for me, blade is a tiny bit thinner than i would have liked, and the color combo is not what I would have ideally wanted.

Amazing

Overview:
Aesthetics - Ok
Ergonomics - Good
Edge - Good
Traction - Adequate
Clip - Excellent
Lockup - Excellent
Blade centering - Excellent
Size - Large
Weight - Great for its size

When I first got it, I didn't really like it very much. The flipper detent was a little to stiff for my taste. I had to press so hard it hurt my finger. It loosened read more up enough after i played with it for a while. I don't like the gold liners. It looks cheap to me. I would rather them just match the blade. I think all the colorations have it too if I'm not mistaken. I also would have rather them been flush with the scales, but instead they are recessed a little bit and have the edges rounded. Which when combined with the fact that they are gold, makes them look like they don't belong there. The blade came reasonably sharp out of box. Definitely didn't need to sharpen it right away like some other knives. The traction on the knife is what i would call adequate. The texture on the scales is good, and there is decent jimping on the spine of the blade, but i would have like for it to extend back onto the handle some. There is a finger choil on the blade. I personally don't prefer them, but its not that big of a deal. Although it is a good size if you are into them. The lockup is extremely solid. I dont detect any wiggle at all. The clip is a good size, its not ugly, its deep, it seems strong, its tip up, its reversible for us lefties. Cant ask for better. Overall, I thinks its one worth picking up, especially at its price.

This knife goes way beyond any close competitors, even at perhaps three times the price. I do like the colored scales, in person it adds greatly to the appearance.
The fit and finish are excellent. Action on this knife is stellar. Out of the box the blade was hair popping sharp.
Overall I would highly recommend Civivi as a must pick-up brand, any of their models. I will read more getting more of their line in the VERY near future. These guys are simply put... killing it!!

For $42.50 I don’t think it’s possible to get a better flipper. The action is great, the grip is nice and weighty, and the blade came razor sharp. My one complaint is that the steel seemed to dull pretty easily, but once again, for such a low price, it’s hard to expect a premium steel.

This knife may be the best buy for the money in the whole knife market. The workmanship is top notch, the fit and finish is superb, and the design is both practical and sublime. You can't buy better quality for the dollar, it's simply amazing.

I just opened this knife and I am amazed. It came in perfect condition. Sharp as hell, centered, and it drops shut with no blade play. It a a full sized knife that fits my XL hands perfectly. I will be getting the other models as well. This is a well built knife worth every cent. I can't wait to do some steel testing. It seems to hold up reasonably well.
