Excellent all around knife

I bought one years ago with Aus 8a steel, and other than the upgraded steel it is essentially the same knife. The AL makes a great hard use knife which comes in handy for construction / remodeling jobs. Also a good choice for self defense, although smaller than the Recon 1 or a large Voyager, it could definitely be an advantage in a fight. The G-10 is quite grippy and fills the read more hand nicely. I used mine as my EDC for several years and it works perfectly in that role.

Hard to beat

I'll start by saying, this is pretty much my favorite folder that I own, and I have a respectable collection. I had had my eye one it since the first week I got into knives. My girlfriend got it cor me for christmas, and I was really excited. I had red the specs, but the measurements still surprised me a bit. its really thin. No liners. Just G10. Probably the best version of the read more tri-ad lock I have ever handled. Very smooth action, and even better after polishing and lubing the washers. I can actually flick it open easily with no wrist. Blade stays centered with no adjustment or thread treatment necessary. I do wish I could get the older version with the hollow grind (and XHP would be sweet too), but that doesn't make this knife any less awesome. S35VN is a sick steel. I have other folders that get carried, but the Lawman probably sees more pocket time that the next two put together. I have more expensive knives, but as a functional tool for daily carry, I put this knife out in front, and its good looking too. I look forward to the day that I get a knife that pushes this guy out of the number one spot. It just hasn't happened yet. Buy it.

Best All-around Cold Steel

The Knife is great. If you're looking into getting a ColdSteel I think this is the one to consider. Its not crazy large and the blade lenght is just right. It's a tank of a knife

American Lawman

Despite being a popular knife I didn't buy this one till now because of the steel change. Love CTP-XHP and have had OK at best experience with S35VN. I can say that my feeling on the steel choice hasn't not changed after owning this knife. Knife came hair popping sharp and ergos seemed good, but thinner then other cold steel knives I own. This is where things after using it for read more long periods of time created hot spots in the grip at least for me. The plus is it's a good size for EDC unlike other cold steel blades I own, the lock didn't stick right off the bat and need to be worn in like other, but out side of that was not very happy with this selection, granted cheaper then other options, but would rather pay more if it is better then this.

The American Lawman Rules

I purchased this knife because of the S35VN steel. I own the Spyderco Native 5 lightweight with S35VN but needed a larger knife for hard work. The lawman came sharp and feels comfortable in the hand. The lockback is strong but to my surprise my knife is easy to close. The weight is 4ozs. which is not too heavy or too light. The only negative is its a pocket shredder with the course read more G-10, otherwise this knife rules.

All around good, strong, quality knife from CS! I think the Tri-Ad lock is the strongest most reliable lockup on the market. This is a great EDC utility knife that will take on almost any task! Great knife at a great price! Buy one, you won't be disappointed! This is my 5th CS product, and they are all well made, solid, very functional knives!

Spec on this knife need correction, the weight shows as 3.95 oz on my scale! This knife is much thinner than the old version with less aggressive G10. So it feels very light and will never shred your pocket again.

Great Knife for EDC

This knife is a great EDC size. The ergonomics are spot on. This folder excels in utility use. I'm glad CS listened and added better steel and a better coating that where lacking on the old model. Of course the Demko Tri Ad lock gives you the since of security that the blade will never close under hard use.
