About Cold Steel Pocket Bushman

Cold Steel's Pocket Bushman knife is an incredibly strong and well-built folder. What makes the Bushman so strong is the mono block construction method and the new patent pending Ram Safe lock, designed by Andrew Demko. It features a unique, self adjusting ram that moves forward as the knife is opened and wedges itself tightly between the tang cut away. It’s powered by a strong compression spring that urges the ram forward and makes for incredibly strong lock up. The Pocket Bushman has a stonewash finished Cryo Quenched German 4116 stainless steel blade. The handle is bead blast finished 420 stainless steel that is folded in half. The handle is contoured for great fit and has a reversible tip-up pocket clip and lanyard.

Hard working knife best for the money but i wish a soft snap on grip add on to the handle some hot spots on hard cutting .

Tank!

Solid knife for any task. After hard abuse, it started having blade play, but very easy to fix just hit the lock once or twice and the blade is solid again. I like how thin it is and rides perfectly in the pocket.

Beast of a blade!

This is a beast of a knife. I’m not sure if this is what I would use as an every day carry but for a bug out bag or an emergency pack or for camping fishing or hiking this knife would be ideal. Yes the ergonomics aren’t the best and yes the locking mechanism is clumsy to use at first but there’s no doubt that this thing is designed for heavy use and is the Sherman tank of read more folding knives.

I'm pleased.

Not going to lie, I initially bought this knife because I thought "Well I don't own a Cold Steel yet." But now that I have it, and I have used it for various tasks out in the yard, I am unconvinced this is a knife. It feels more like a tank. It has held up to every task I have thrown its way, and it shows no signs of slowing down. Well worth the money I paid for it. Only downside read more for me is I cant conceal carry it in my state legally. But, it gets used around the house a lot. If you are looking for a knife to just punish and do some real work with, this is your knife.

Tougher than a coffin nail

This is a two handed knife and you can find krupp 1.461 I think stainless but I would suggest paying more for the upgraded blade steel CTS-BD1 - I've used this knife to throw into logs and gut deer and left it outside for 48 hours in the snow and did not see any rust but I keep my blades oiled well during all seasons

Cheap enough to buy two - this blade is pinned into place read more and it takes two hands to close the lock is that strong !!!!! This would make a great gift !!!!!!!

This knife takes a beating and as long as you cut with it and don't try to clear a whole Forrest you'll never have any issues

Begginers bushcraft tool

This was my first knife when starting bushcraft and has taken a beating. Strong and durable this is built to last and is easy to sharpen. I mainly wear gloves when working but to use this without gloves is a bit uncomfortable. This is a great chopping knife. This will forever be in my EDC rotation

Function 10/10. Comfort, 5/10

The knife works amazing, I've had it for 4 years now and its still a favorite of mine and cuts like butter (obviously, I mean its a cold steel product!). The only draw back I have is that it isn't the most comfortable to hold, it takes some getting used to. Since it is just one big hunk of metal bent into the shape of a handle, it works but is rough. Still completely worth the amazing read more price. The lock has never failed on me, and the size is beautiful.

Not too bad

I was surprised by how fast this knife grew on me. It's light for its size, lockup is great and gives you confidence. This was also my first experience with bd1 steel and for a budget steel it might be my favorite. Easy to put and keep an edge on. Polishs nicely. Handle is thin in the pocket and nice and smooth so its easy to grab things out of your pocket. All and all this is a read more great knife for the price. It's so cheap it can't hurt to try. Only con is it takes practice to close fast( doesn't require much effort to learn).
