Five stars, at this price

I have a real range of folders in my collection, everything from cheapies to high-end production knives. This knife feels a lot more expensive than it is.

The flipper action is maybe 85% as good as some of my ZT knives, and that's really saying something. Very well engineered and executed, and zero side-to-side blade play.

The liner lock fully engages its own width read more with the blade, and covers about half of the blade's thickness. Good lockup.

There's nothing not to like about the deep-pocket clip, unless you're a lefty---it's right-hand, blade-to-the-rear tip-up carry only. 93% of the populace is right-handed, and the vast majority of them prefer this configuration, so that's not a bad thing. Looking at the scales (handles), however, there appears to be no reason why the holes and inset couldn't have been prepared for a lefty to switch sides with the clip. Hmm. Well, they didn't do it, so if you're a southpaw, consider giving this one a pass.

The D2 blade (nice!) arrived reasonably and acceptably sharp, although not as sharp as I'll make it. And the knife as a whole is not too heavy; sits in the pocket well. The black aluminum handles feel decent and look good; it remains to be seen how long it will be before they look scraped up. But this is a tool, not a museum piece...and the little touch of blue is interesting and a little whimsical.

Going from the older 8cr steel to the D2 is a welcome change--and at this price, a great deal. If you're thinking about this one with the D2 steel, go for it. The price is amazingly low.

Really surprised!

I've never been impressed with crkt knives. This one looked so good I decided to take a chance. I'm so glad I did! Feels nice and solid, flipping action is second to none, balance is great, and the little touch of blue really stands out. Sure the steel is 8cr... But I've never had a problem with it. If it bothers you though, just get the D2 version coming out. I think I just might! read more

Great knife

I love everything about this knife... It's also my first "big boy" knife.

Cancelled

I ordered this knife about a week and a half ago. I was very excited to have such a beautiful knife but... After 8 days of waiting for my package, I decided to see what was up by looking at my order status, noticing it had not been shipped yet I looked a little harder. In the menu where I picked the order, it said it had been cancelled even tho I didn't show a date for ever being read more cancelled. I never cancelled the order either. I figured, wow, that sucks, I've been waiting for a package that isn't coming so I decided to order it again only to realise it was now out of stock. Very disappointed.

Sweet action

By no means does this thing seem like a work horse. But daaaang, is that action smooth. It opens as nice as any high end knife (zt fan) I own. I doubt I'll ever carry it , but it's a great fidget flipper.

Ok'ish at best

Great looking knife but definitely not built to be a hard use knife. Love the deep carry clip but that's about it. Grip is very slick as well. The paint is already starting to wear off on the handle and I've barely carried it.

Almost no detent.

Very dissatisfied/disappointed with this knife. If you just shake it the blade comes swinging out. Virtually no detent.
But it got 2 stars for the "looks/design".

Possible one of the best

I bought this knife about three months ago and i love it every time i pull it out to use it. The designer, name, and materials are all nice but what really stood out to me was how it uses a ball bearing pivot system. Every time i open it it feels magical. It’s definitely not a hard core outdoors survival knife by any means but it is a dangerously sexy EDC knife. The only thing read more i noticed with the knife was i was occasionally worried about getting to much “lint or dirt” in the ball bearing pivot so i always kept the knife well oiled and cleaned, but never had a problem with it even when i did drop it in a puddle of muddle one time.

Love the design. Not so much the pocket clip.

Love the black with the hint of blue. Only thing I don't like about it is the pocket clip. Within a week it bent from just taking out and putting it in my jean pocket. Now it can easily fall out of the pocket if I lean over. It came sharp and I love it besides that one flaw. Smooth action.

Awesome knife

This knife is by far one of my favorite knives! Although there is one problem with it. If it is dropped at any angle from around waist high the blade will open. But regardless I love it. It goes with me everywhere and I will be placing a few more orders soon for my co-workers that want mine. Thank you Blade HQ!
Also as a side note I purchased this knife within 20mins of it being read more released.

Done right.

Action is very smooth. Usually it would take a couple weeks to get a knife where this one is out of the box. Also came crazy sharp which I was not expecting.

The feel is solid. Feels more like a $150 knife than a $40 one. Highly recommend this knife.

Subtle yet sexy

Not overstated, this knife carries quietly in any pocket. I wasn’t sure about the feel of the handle but I’m growing to really like it. The action is great, nice little flipper. Love the hint of blue on the pivot!
