Big Little Knife
First off, it’s a budget CRKT knife. 8cr13MoV blade, nylon washers, steel frame: you get what you pay for and more. That said, this knife is a tough, little worker with really great style cues from the faux hammered scales to the bowie blade that’s easily sharpened AND comes with a hollow ground, which is my favorite grind for an EDC knife. I wish more knife manufacturers would… read more use a hollow over a flat grind and CRKT is good for that. The Chehalem carries just as well as a 3.75in closed knife can with a deep carry clip. Because it is an all-steel knife, it does carry considerably more weight than a knife of its size made with more premium materials. I happen to like a bit more weight on a little knife as it lends a certain heft that feels good in use. I have relatively small hands and long, skinny fingers so the ergonomics feel great to me as I can squeeze four fingers on the scales just fine. I can choke up on it by using the choil but I would be hesitant if my fingers were any fatter. I’ve not done any super hard use with this knife, but I’ve used it plenty enough to say it can handle some abuse with the only downside being the 8cr13MoV steel will not hold an edge for very long. It opens easily with a thumb roll or a reverse flick. I prefer to slow roll it. Closes just as easy. Overall, I think it’s a great EDC knife and that you get much more than what you paid.
Pretty little knife
Chehalem is a beautiful little knife. The hammered metal looking scales look awesome and feel great in the hand. The super curvy blade shape adds to the aesthetic. I'd like a darker patina on the scale dimples, but that is very minor.
Blade deploys smoothly (typical CRKT), but it doesn't "flick" open nor is it "drop shutty". I oiled the hinge and it smoothed out a bit and…

perhaps it'll loosen up over time, but out of the box, its just a simple push open.
Frame lock took a bit of tries to get smooth, now it works great with zero play. It doesn't stick like a lot of frame locks I have experienced.
Given the steel frame, its relatively heavy for its size, but that shouldn't be a surprise.
The clip is right-side tip-up only. Perfect for me, but if you're looking for other options, there are none.
If I had to change one thing, I'd cut back the curve around where your index finger rests. I have relatively large hands the curve wants to push my hand farther down the handle than what feels natural.
All in all, its a very interesting looking and eye catching knife without being too weird.
Really nice
Feels excellent in my hand. Very comfortable to open. Secure feeling. Dig it
