I bought this folder on the used market because at the time, they couldn't be found anywhere. That said, upon examining the knife on receipt, I think the prior owner tried to "fix" the cutting edge. The bevel angles weren't the same side to side so it required a complete re-profiling to get a nice balanced edge. I don't intend this knife to be a daily EDC, so I went with an aggressively read more sharp bevel angle of 17.5 degrees. Now it's like a scalpel. An earlier reviewer mentioned a gritty deployment, but mine is silky smooth and totally silent. I really like this knife.

Excellent hard use, tactical knife

I got this knife because I like the lines and blade shape, and wanted to try the new deadbolt lock. I wasn't sure what to expect as far as fit and finish and overall quality. I must say that this knife is a knockout, it is better that I could have imagined. The lock is a vault with no play at all, and is smooth and easy to use one handed, especially with gloves on. The ergos are read more A+. If you are in need of a high quality knife and like the lines, give it a try. It has earned a solid spot in my EDC rotation. and that's not easy. comparable to CS Recon 1, Voyager. Really impressed. Takes about a week to really break in the bearings and lock. But once it breaks in its buttery.

Buy this knife. This is one of the largest folders I own, bigger than the venerable Buck 110. That being said, it is a more versatile and easier to carry tool. For its size, it is comfortable in either my slit pocket or cargo pocket. It also carries well in gym shorts or lounge pants without dragging them down. The ergonomics of the handle the G10 scales and the jimping on the thumb read more ramp make control of the blade instinctive. I have no issues flipping it open, just took some working out the new knife stiffness. The ambidextrous thumb studs just add to your opening options. Closed it can be utilized as a kubotan easily, extending from either side of my rather large hands. The Persian inspired blade design, much like the original Clever Girl Fixed blade is versatile in the field, home office or kitchen. It has become the one knife I am sure to have on me if I only carry one since I received it. Austin McGlaun’s design with the Deadbolt lock and the IKBS bearing pivot system are as smooth as a Swiss timepiece.

What a beast!

This is a serious (and intimidating) knife intended for LE and military. The size and weight precludes daily pocket carry, but would go well on load bearing vest, battle belt or other heavy duty mount.

The handle fills the hand with terrific traction, especially along the edges. The best folder handle I've seen. Jimping is poor.

The blade was super sharp out of box, read more and the Persian styling is awesome. Good blade to handle ratio.

The knife is a poor flipper. The flipper tab is slick and hard to use. The detent is too strong, increasing the difficulty to flip the blade.

While IKBS bearings are included, the knife sounds and feels gritty when opening and closing the blade, further impacting flipping performance.

The Deadbolt locking mechanism provided rock solid blade lock up when deployed - no movement whatsoever.

Overall a great design but flawed execution. My problems with the knife could be from QC issues and may be eliminated with a tune up. I returned the knife for something else.
