Beautiful

It hurts how underrated this knife is. It is a great design because it is comfortable, has a buttery action, useful blade, and beautiful aesthetics. It really feels like a perfect merging of old world with new world materials. This was my first 'gentleman's carry' in my collection and I highly recommend this blade.

Is this my Favorite Knife?

The CRKT Fossil is without a doubt, a criminally underrated knife. It is big, sharp, comfy, and beautiful. Not to mention that opening this knife is like sledding on a mixture of banana peels, gun lube, and melted butter. This knife may be the only thing smoother than Ron Burgundy playing jazz flute. Absolutely love this fancy knife. 97/100

"Its sooo big!" Is exactly what she'll say

I was surprised at how big this knife really is when I got it. It's so smooth too. Just a giant, gnarly, flipper with a crazy cool textured handle. The g-10 is weird but not bad weird....like it mimics drift wood or something but it feels really good.... Only downside is the horrible pocket clip....it's a little weak and is in an awkward position for me....still no regrets.... Be read more careful who you open it around....it is a little intimidating to some oddly

Cool piece

This knife is awesome feels really good in hand and looks amazing definitely an eye catcher
The one thing I didn’t like about it was the pocket clip was pretty flimsy it’s stayed in pocket but slides a lot and mine ended up snapping off

Steel is not the best but gets the job done comes very sharp and takes a edge very well

Overall a great knife I would definitely read more recommend it to anyone not afraid of a big knife

What a blade!!!

This is an amazing flipper especially for the price!! Hands down one of the best production flippers, so smooth even after a year+ with no oiling. Little bigger and heavier then what I would normally EDC but still one of my go to's when picking a folder for the day

Fantastic knife

absolutely fantastic flipper action on this one. Blade is a bit on the long side but is still very comfortable for edc. the design is solid and the fit and finish is more than you expect for the price in my opinion.

Very nice

I'm new to buying knives. Found this on clearance and love it. Fits my hand better than I thought it would. It's very comfortable. Action on the blade is so smooth. Came with an extremely sharp factory edge. I used it on my job yesterday and it cut through the boxes and strapping tape like they were butter.

Smooth and sassy.

What can I say, I love it. It makes a great EDC piece, especially for under 60 bucks. The blade steel isn't my favorite personally, however it does sharpen easily and has held up quite well. It feels great in hand. The IKBS system is excellent, the knife flips smooth. Lock up and centering is spot on.

Great knife!

It's awesome design. It feels good in your hand and doesn't want to slip out of your hand. I've had this knife for several years and I've only ever had to sharpen it 3 maybe 4 times. It's a must have!

Okay steel, decent build, great action.

The good: the ergonomics and build quality are fairly solid.
The great: the action on this with the IKBS is just stellar and its a drop free sort of affair and flies out of the handle when used in conjunction with the flipper tab.

The bad: the pocket clip is very finicky in a way that means if you bump it hard enough to loosen both the screws it jiggles around in your read more pocket and you can tighten down the screws again but it will never be just as tight as it was out of the box.

The ugly: the price on this is $60 and for 8CR13MOV that's a little steep but, with a very unique design such as this and a just stellar action I think it could be worth $50 but maybe not the $60 they're asking for it.
Final Verdict: if you're looking for a BIG folder with a bit of a crazy design and you're okay with a not great slicer then this might be for you, but it's not gem, at least not for me.

Wow!

I bought this knife just out of curiosity as it was large, cheap and has IKBS. Folks right out of the box this knife fires open like a ZT 0801. 8CR13MOV is not bad steel. I actually like my copy so much I am going to have it pro sharpened. The handle needs just a touch more G10 material.

Took a while to break in, but glad I did it, it's perfect to play with, pocket clip is crap though.

Flawless

This folder is silky smooth opening and closing. Lockup is solid with no play. Takes a great edge. Love the spacers on the pocket clip. So smooth, it's practically assisted.
