About CRKT Otanashi noh Ken

The CRKT Otanashi noh Ken™ was designed by James Williams per a request from SOCOM for a larger, thinner, folding Combat knife that was easy to carry and conceal. This knife is designed for use in close quarters battle (CQB) environments. The Otanashi noh Ken knife has an Osoraku style blade, made famous by the 16th century Samurai warlord Takeda Shingen. This knife has a longer blade than the Hissatsu Folder and is slimmer to carry than the popular Heiho folding knife. Black G-10 handle with frame lock and deep carry pocket clip.James Williams' work with worldwide military Special Operations and his extensive classical Samurai training means that this knife is designed to perform at the highest level, when you need it most.

Handle is way to narrow and blade is dull.

I had high hopes for this knife. The design on line checked all the boxes. When the knife came and once in hand it fell way short for me. The scales are too narrow the g10 could been a little wider for me. They say the blade is hollow ground , it's not. Knife has crappy cutting capability. It's a good poker but not cutter. Very disappointed sent it right back. Used the refund money read more towards a Cold Steel recon 1 clip point. That was worth the money !

Easy to carry EDC despite the stated weight. I can't tell its there. Very intimidating knife.
Definitely a friend if you ever need one and I hope I never need one. Easy to open.
Closing the blade may take some practice.

The Out Burst Feature really swing the blade into action and with auto lock a user doesn't have to do anymore than use the blade. The James Williams design is a very purpose built knife sure to give many years of service. Buy with confidence.

Very attractive when closed

Great knife I love a good frame lock , wish the blade was centered better though . Black coating it starting to come of from just flipping opend and closed like any knife nut does with a new knife.

Good blade, little big.

I loved this knife when it first came out. The construction and materials used are better in my opinion than the other James Williams folders from CRKT. That being said this thing is massive. It's more comfortable to carry in a back pocket than a front pocket due to its length closed and your are sure to get some looks if you pull this out in public. However it is built really well read more and the size and weight of the blade makes it really easy to flip out. It makes an exceptional defensive knife however it is probably illegal to conceal in a lot of places without a license.
