CRKT Seismic

This is a great knife. It is the first big folding knife that I have ever owned, and the first knife I have ever bought for myself. I find that it is super easy to open and close and it came really sharp. Overall, very impressed with the knife.

Beautiful knife, beastly in size!

The CRKT Seismic was my choice to check out the new Deadbolt push-button lock feature. It takes some getting used to but once you do it works well. Blade flips open easily and with a little wrist action can be closed with a press of the button. It's a beautiful design and larger than I expected, but it feels great in your hand!

Nothing else like it for the price

I'll start off by saying if this knife were 50 bucks more it would be a 4 star review but because of the price I'm letting a few things slide. To get the cons out of the way, the g10 is sharp and creates a hot spot that could have easily been fixed. Second, the machining on the blade is rough where there's a cut out for the deadbolt. Now onto whats good about the knife. First off, read more I think you have to disassemble this knife to fully appreciate it. it is a complex yet simple design that is easier to maintain than you would think. The deadbolt lock gives solid lockup and peace of mind if your worried about your lock failing and allows one hand opening and closing. However, I wish it were a bit smoother because as is the flipper tab alone isn't enough to fully open the blade. The adjustable detent is a really cool feature that I haven't seen on any other knife. I don't really have much experience with this steel so I won't say anything about it. So at the end of the day, I'm giving this five stars because it is a really great design that has a lot of cool features and if some other companies made this they would be charging a lot more, so even though it has a couple of issues I'll still give it five stars.

Good overall knife

I love the size and feel of this knife. It is definitely a use and abuse knife for me because this locking mechanism is very solid and secure and the unlock mechanism is the pivot, which is out of the way and you won't accidentally disengage the lock.
My only gripe about this knife is that its 120$ for 1.4116 steel!? Common guys, if I'm paying above 100$ at least use D2 or something read more at that price.

This is one of the best lock ups in the knife world today. Hopefully we see CRKT make an s35vn version!

Very good innovation for this price point

I like this knife a lot - really well styled, with very smooth opening - it's better with the flipper than it is with the thumb stud. Blade is reasonably sharp and is imposing when it is fully opened. The G-10 on the handles is good and allows for good retention of the knife. I like the concept of the deadbolt quite a bit, and it will become a CRKT classic much as the field-strip read more feature has become iconic. There is a little bit of stiffness in the deadbolt, but I expect it will smooth out with age and use. And I'd rather have the closing a little delayed vs. the opening. Looks good, feels good, nice knife. Probably 4.5 stars, but I rounded up.

Great solid Knife

Solid and Tight. No wobble or blade play on my knife. It arrived very sharp and the custom engraving I had don was exceptional. Great job on the custom side of things at BladeHQ and another beautiful CRKT knife for my collection.

Great knife with one issue

This is a great offering from CRKT. I love the action. Out of the box it is buttery smooth and I really enjoy fidgeting with it.
The blade arrived super sharp with no issues. I really like the shape for an every day user. There are a few hot spots on the handle, but it fits well in hand.

The only issue I encountered was the sharp edges on the jimping on the back spacer read more with the lanyard holes. When I try to pull the knife from pocket, I have to be careful or the edge of the jimping will cut the side of my hand around the same spot each time.

The obvious solution would be to sand these edge down and round them more to prevent this, but I haven't gotten around to doing it yet.

Well Done Ikoma & CRKT

This knife is well designed. The blade and handle fit well in the hand. It’s got a solid feel to it. The blade shape is very useful for heavy tasks. Now the best part the LOCK! The new lock design is as solid as the name implies....DEADBOLT! You can’t go wrong with this one.

A large knife, but just so wonderful in hand!

Love the Deadbolt locking feature! Gives me a very sound peace of mind to know it will not close unless I want it to. The button is easy to use, and feels very natural when closing the knife. The blade is very thick, and feels like I can put this knife through a lot of hard work and not have to worry about hurting it no matter what I put it through.
The thumb relief in the scales read more is a great touch that makes this knife feel extra secure in your hand. And I love the deep carry pocket clip to keep this large knife hidden in your pocket, and out of the way. It doesn't feel like a large knife in your pocket, and you can easily put your hand in your pocket and retrieve your keys without out it getting in your way. When I first got it, I was like, woah..Thats a big knife. But after just one day of carrying it, I completely forget about it because of how it carries so easily tip up in your pocket.
The other reviewer talks about how the button used to close the knife is very rough and hard to push, I didn't find mine to be like that at all. It gives a very noticeable click when you push it in, and lets you know when the locking mechanism is disengaged. Easy to push in, and feels very secure.
As for such a large blade, it's really impressive to be able to so easily open it with either the thumbstud, or with the back flipper. It just glides so smooth. Super happy with this purchase, and will be very happy to carry this knife every day!

When I got the knife I was in love a beautiful knife and great in my hands, love the blade shape but the only thing that bothers me is when the knife opens the button is very rough and hard to push, I have tried to break it in but i just sees that is how it is, just kinda bothers me.
