Great knife!
I find the chunkier handle gives better control. Also, to Stewart H. The previous reviewer. The dangler sheath for the F1 fits this model perfectly and is only $23.
Not quite perfect
As always, DLT shipped the knife fast, and I received the knife two days after I ordered it. (On standard free shipping.) I bought it for its intended purpose as a dedicated field dressing knife for large game. The obvious comparison for me was with the F-1 which I also own. the tough hide of some larger game animals. The thicker blade looks great for cutting (or chopping) through the front of a rib cage.
I have two small quibbles with the knife. First, the retention strap on the Zytel sheath closes right on the lanyard hole. I always tie a colorful lanyard on my hunting knives. It helps me find a knife I dropped or misplaced in the snow. Second, is the lack of a finger guard. While Faulknieven thinks that is no problem for someone who knows how to use a knife, I'm going to have to be extra careful when reaching under a rib cage to cut the esophagus with cold and numb hands. A finger guard would be useful.
All in all, looking forward to using this knife this year!
