The Fallkniven S1 Forest Knife is probably the best hunting and fishing knife ever made. Its sturdy blade made of the new extremely strong stainless laminate VG10 custom steel is convex grounded for extra strong cutting power with no risk for edge breakage. The MODified clippoint design works well for penetrating purposes, the long curved edge is ideal for skinning. The blade is long enough for lighter chopping and won't break, it's a full 5 mm (0.2") thick! The checkered handle gives a good grip even when your hands are cold or wet. Depending on your needs, you have the possibility to choose from two kinds of Fallkniven sheaths, an open-top dangler in thick, black leather or a Zytel sheath with snappers around the handle. Like all our MODels, the S1 Forest Knife is well tested before release, you will find no teething problems. If you're looking for total quality, a classic knife from Fallkniven AB is never wrong. Haven't had much chance to
Haven't had much chance to use it yet but the knife has a good feel in the hand and looks like it'll do the job nicely. Not a fan of the sheath, though, but I'll take care of that at a later date.

My new S1 seems to be high quality and the perfect size for my needs. I really like the kydex sheath and large tek-lok I bought with it. I got great service from DLT. Thank you

I haven't got to put this to any real use yet, but I see why this knife gets good reviews. Came super sharp, comfortable in the hand, looks sexy. The sheath does seem to be sub-par. There is just a small tab to hold it in place that looks like it would break easily. There is a button strap that will still hold it in place but I'd rather the sheath itself did that. I knew this going… read more in however, not a big deal for me because I make my own sheathes anyway. I wanted the pro but couldn't pull the trigger on the $. Will update after use.
As expected
Knife came sharp and ready to use. The rear of the handle is a little slim but doesn't affect performance this knife will become a family heirloom.

Best knife I've had in a while
I have chopped wood, carved and made festhersticks with it. Cut food and opened canned food. This knife is sharp, stays sharp and touches up very easily. And is the perfect size. Can't say the zytel sheath is great, but it works. I would recommend an after market leather or kydex sheath.
