About GiantMouse Sonoma - Stonewashed Blade - PVD Titanium Handle
GiantMouse | SonomaThe "Sonoma" is from GiantMouse's ACE line of unlimited production Knives. Much of GiantMouses's inspiration for this MODel came from the GiantMouse GM3, a sleek gentleman?s folder which was very well received by their customers in 2017.Even though the Sonoma is part of GiantMouses's ACE line, they decided to go all out on this first release produced by their newest manufacturer, Reate Knives. Designed with a milled titanium skeletonized clip, rather than the standard ACE line wire clip, and anodized titanium pivot collARS and backspacer similar to what they've done on the limited edition GM line Knives. Two versions of the Sonoma will be available upon release - one in stonewashed titanium with a satin finished blade, and one in PVD titanium with a fine stonewashed blade.GiantMouse's decision on the name for this elegant folder is a nod to Sonoma County which lies just north of GiantMouse?s headquarters in Marin County, California. Sonoma is known for its scenic beauty - rolling hills and valleys, acres upon acres of vineyards, and over 250 wineries. The alluring landscape, along with no end to amazing food and wine, make Sonoma an ideal place for the GiantMouse Team to get their creative juices flowing.

Just short of great
Very well made knife (by Reate) but It has a couple of design errors that does detract. As many YouTube reviewers have noted, the area of the scales around the lanyard hole is not well thought out. It’s sharp when you hold it against the palm of your hand to actuate the flipper. Not to the point of cutting you but it’s noticeably uncomfortable. Hard to imagine how they made…

prototypes of this and decided to approve the production build. Would have been far better off without a lanyard hole. It’s a gentleman’s knife essentially anyway.
Still a very useable knife and it looks outstanding. I don’t exactly sit on the couch endlessly flipping it so the sharpness isn’t too much of a deterrent to me. I knew of the issue before buying it but the designers & manufacturers surely could have addressed this prior to production.
The knife is notably handle-heavy & it would have benefited by a little internal milling on the scales. Wouldn’t have taken much and I do like a bit of heft anyway.
Everything else about the knife is typical Reate flawlessness. Some don’t like the pocket clip but I think the unique good looks of it easily outweighs the depth (or lack) of it in my pocket.
Quality of the knife is well worth the cost.
