Add a state of the art OTF automatic to your kit with the RECON-040 from Guardian Tactical. This RECON MODel is built with a black anodized handle and a black drop point blade. The thumb slide and clip are also finished black.Guardian Tactical's patented OTF mechanism provides smooth, responsive opening action. The unique thumb slide design is separated from the aluminum handle by a steel plate and 3 ceramic balls that eliminate grinding and wear. An innovative locking mechanism sits off to the side of the blade channel so it doesn't drag against the blade when opening and closing. These features eliminate the friction on the blade and button that have always plagued OTF Knives. Almost as good as its little brother
The Guardian Tactical Recon-035 is my all time favorite OTF knife. I prefer it over many more expensive competitors because the action is buttery smooth, there is OK traction, and the blade deploys with a pleasing authoritative snap. The larger Recon-040 retains all of these same features on a scaled up size. To be honest, I think that the smaller 035 is a more practical choice… read more for the pocket and most tasks I use it for. I don't regret the 040 purchase, but if you are trying to decide between the two, I suggest going with the smaller 035.
