Very Nice
This is my first OTF Auto knife. Super smooth deployment. Elmax blade is crazy sharp. I like the size of the Recon 040. It compares in size to my Hinderer XM-24 and my Medford DP-187 Very Nice.
SMOOTH
SMOOTH. Super SMOOTH open and closing. Beats my Microtech Ultratech hands down! Beats ALL my OTFs hands down. So well made I want another. You will not be disappointed ! Dont waste your money on a hand full of inferior OTFs like I did. Live and learn. I hope this helps. Jef C.
ALMOST perfect BUT ...
OK - I love almost everything about the RECON-035. I have purchased a couple in various colors, blade finishes, and blade profiles. The steel is great. The action is super smooth. The pocket clip isn't super deep carry but it's good enough. The Elmax steel is great and the knife is sharp. The one flaw that is a big deal for me is that when the blade is retracted, the tip sticks… read more out just enough that you can slice your finger if you run your finger across the front of the knife. I have cut myself twice just running my finger tip across the front of a closed knife. The blade is about a millimeter too long. This seems to be more problematic with tanto blades but isn't limited to JUST the tanto blades. I really with Guardian Tactical would fix this design flaw.
