About Kershaw 7900GRYBLK Launch 7

With its machined handle and integrated backspacer, the Launch 7, designed by Tim Galyean, has an industrial look that takes it out of the ordinary - way out of the ordinary. With a long 3.75 inch clip-point blade of CPM 154, the Launch 7 offers a long, lean profile. The steel is the powdered metallurgy version of the popular 154 CM knife steel. This version offers improved toughness, grindability, and polishability as well as providing excellent corrosion resistance and edge retention. The handle is highly sculpted for an attention-grabbing look. Machined contours on both handle top and bottom give the Launch 7 its MODern, industrial aesthetic as well as ensuring a solid grip. The backspacer is fully integrated into the handle, adding to the Launch 7's solid feel and great look. The handle is built of aluminum for lighter weight and is anodized in grey, making it stand out from the rest of the Kershaw line.

Exactly what I was looking for!

I was wanting a light and slim automatic with a longer reach to carry discretely for when I'm not able to carry my firearm. The Launch 7 fit the bill perfectly. It's both good looking and very comfortable to use. It fits nicely clipped inside the top of my boot and is comfortable to wear. The finger recess ensures your digits won't be sliding onto the business end. The CPM 154 came read more shaving sharp out of the box and with an incredibly stabby tip. The action on it is fast and strong. When I first sat down to play with it, I accidentally opened it with a coffee mug in the way. It sent the mug tumbling and still snapped into place with perfect lockup. You can hold the blade just short of locking up, and it will slide right into place. I'm certain if I do my part keeping the action clean that it will operate well for years to come. I still want a Benchmade auto at some point, but this will hold me nicely until I'm ready to spend twice for the same steel on one of theirs.
