Judging from all the reviews, QC can apparently be hit or miss on this knife. Fortunately I got a good one...the detent is just right, jimping on flipper tab is just right, grind is even and sharp. The action on mine is perfect, not too tough to open but it's nearly impossible to make it fail to open. Beautiful knife, poor execution
The knife looks and feels amazing. I love the D2 steel for the price. Mine is a pretty good flipper once you get used to it although it hurts the thumb a tad if you do it constantly. My main gripe is you cannot close mine with one hand. The subframe lock is way too stiff its basically impossible to operate.

This little knife is great in Copper scales, perfect centering, sharp blade out of the box, gotta keep your off the lock bar when flipping though. There is one major drawback to this otherwise outstanding and beautiful knife, the pocket clip. First, the tip of the clip is too shallow making it somewhat of a chore to put into your pocket. more round headed screws also not recessed. Recessing all these screws and recessing the clip base would be much better. Plus the poorly designed clip creates uncomfortable hot spots.
I decided to change the clip to left hand carry because of these issues. But doing so caused the sub-liner lock to become loose, so I asked Kershaw to send a couple of extra screws. Now there are four domed screws on one side thar are, no other way to say it, ugly. If redesigned with recessed screws and a more functional clip and I would give this knife five stars. As it is only 3 stars. I rarely carry this knife because of the terrible ergonomics of the pocket clip.

golly that detent is stronger than my generations will to be swallowed up into the void. its a great knife out of box, sharp as can be, and it feels great in hand. I really like this knife, I think it’s a good value...Love the stone wash D2 steel... My only drawback is the action is really stiff and I prefer a smooth easy action. No big deal a little 10 w Nano-oil and it should be just fine...🤪
First copper handle knife
Smaller than expected, but still awesome.
The fuller grinds were slightly off, but didn't affect the performance of the knife. Detent was perfect and was sharp out of the box. Had this for about two months and the patina is coming along really nice.

I really enjoy this particular knife. It's smaller than I normally like but still carry it plenty. The deep pocket clip is one of my favorite features of it. Like many, I'd been looking forward to this knife for a long time. I love Kershaw, I love copper scales and I love small knives. The design looks killer, and I was excited about the D2 blade. I ordered one from Blade HQ, who got it to me with their usual great quality service. Unfortunately, when I got it I was fairly let down. It's such an awesome design, and I love Kershaw. I hope they are able to sort out the QC issues this model has shown early on. the sub-lock is kind of a pain for me. It's not difficult but it takes some thought as my finger wants to push on it to grip the knife which means my thumb sometimes is pushing against my other fingers. NOT a deal breaker, I still carry it often, but just be aware that if you use your knife all the time and are always deploying and closing, there are other knives for the same money that are better at that. But that copper!
Small
I knew the knife would be small, but it is hard to hold. I have small hands, but even still it is very difficult to hold the knife. I think a finger choil like the pilar large would make this knife amazing. Or offer copper on the normal size natrix.
Great blade shape and feel in hand.
Love the design all around. Nice weight to it in hand. The patina which forms is pretty fun to watch as the days go by.
Only issue is accidentally placing your fingers on the lock bar while trying to open it which really hinders the momentum of the blade.

Perfect size and style
The Mini Natrix fits my needs really well.
I purchased a regular Kershaw Natrix a while ago but it was a little too big, the choice of materials and finish was not so attractive (green g10 and black blade) and the knife looked too intimidating for EDC.
This Mini Natrix looks awesome and the size and ergonomics are perfect for my daily needs in the office.

I wanted this knife to be great because I love the copper and knowing it’s color would gradually change over time, but the action was terrible. I couldn’t even flip open the knife using the flipper, I had to return it.

The copper is the star of the show, though. It has been so awesome to watch the patina form, rub off, and come back. It's ever changing and morphing as I go through cycles of carrying it and storing it.
I would LOVE a full-sized Natrix or Bareknuckle in copper, especially with D2 or another better steel, but the Mini Natrix is awesome on it's own.
It's about the copper
I'm a Kershaw fan first of all, but when I saw the Shot show video, and I saw the copper mini Natrix and the copper flashlight together, I said, got a have it and I did. I know it's not USA made, but mine works very well both opening and closing, no problems..looking forward to the change in patina...it's about the copper.

My Copper Natrix story
So when I first read about this knife I thought “hmmmm, that would make a nice addition to the collection”. So I came to the wonderful Blade HQ website (which I spend too much time looking at) to see if they had it. I think at the time it was on Pre order so I put it on my ‘wishlist’ then one day I got the email that it was in-stock but I was at work and waited too long… read more and by the time I went to order it it was already sold out! So I made sure it remained on my wishlist. Then one day I got that email telling me it was back in stock. Again I was at work and waited too long to order it and it was out of stock again! Me being the bummed out but diligent knife head I am made sure it stayed on my wishlist. Then it came back in stock again and I was extra quick on the trigger this time and I finally completed my order. Now I had read some negative reviews, dull blades, sharp flippers, bad action. But this did not deter me though I was a little concerned about what I may receive. To my delight, what I received was excellent. The blade was much, much sharper than I expected, the flipper was not sharp, and the action was perfectly fine. I’ve now had this knife for about a month now and I really couldn’t be happier with it. I own and have carried a couple bigger ZT’s (0300bw, 0561) so carrying this is less obtrusive and perfect for shorts, practically disappears in my pocket. Great knife!

I was so stoked to get this knife, I missed the first batch and I knew I had to have it. I do like the knife, I love the size, the copper scales are gorgeous and with the D2 steel and the deep carry clip this should have been a perfect carry blade. The problem for me lies in the opening and closing, the detent on it is very heavy, which opening the knife was very difficult. Closing the Natrix is difficult too, the sub frame lock is stiff. I understand that a knife needs to be broken in , but with these issues it shows the problems with the knife. I really did like this knife, but I had to send it back. I've handled a couple other Natrix's, just to see if I just had a bad one, and they were all pretty hit or miss. The Kershaw Natrix has alot going for it and I really do like it. If they fix the issues with it this would really be a great knife and I would buy one again.

Resistance was Futile
A few months after purchasing a Kershaw Natrix 7007TAN this sexy little beast showed up in stock. It was love at first drool. Never had a knife with copper scales, and a Mini-Natrix sounded amazing. I was not disappointed.

Good knife!
Very smooth, had good lock up, and over good fit and finish. This is my first experience with D2, it's a good steel but it definitely takes a little more maintenance and care to prevent rush spots then your normal stainless steels.

Mine had great flipping action with a centered blade.
Only gripes are the uneven blade grinds (higher on one side than the other) and plastic spacer.

Disappointment
I really looked forward to getting this knife. It was nice, but it was too difficult to flip open and close with one hand. I didn’t feel like I should have to tear it apart to make it work correctly, so I returned mine.

I read all the reviews before purchasing this knife, and knew it was going to be a beautiful knife, but was not sure it would be a smooth flipper. Well now that I have the knife in hand, I can assure you that the action on this knife is smooth. What a treasure! I just hope that Kershaw makes a larger version of the Natrix Copper.

It's hard to disengage the lock. Other than that I love the design. Other things I weren't happy about were the edge and the lockbar anchor point. The edge is super uneven on one side near the tip. I have to put a brand new edge on it right out of the box. Everyone knows the issue that you need the 2 screws and the pocket clip screws on the lockbar side to keep the detent and avoid the lockbar shifting. That seemed like it was on the 1st batch. All Kershaw had to do is ship 2 more screws for lefties on the 2nd batch. No, instead they decided to glue the heck out of the where the lockbar mounts to the frame. Now I have to remove a bunch of glue that dripped all over the gap between the lock and the frame. 2 screws..... 2...... screws..... I'd say avoid the purchase if you don't have the skills or the tools to correct these issues.

1st impression nice weight good feel and looks great.
Working in well as im playing with it. Was little stiff less now. The D2 blade upgrade is a welcome plus too.

Sweet blade
Out of box hard detent really stiff. Was outside in the cold, knife was very colt to the touch. Let knife cool down while closed. Reopen it and it has to perfect action. I don't know if the cooling and heating properties had anything to do with it but now it has perfect action and detent seems to be sport on...

Finish and detail are beautiful, blade is centered and locks ups solid with no play. Was stiff to open out the box but broke in nice. Came razor sharp. Love the pocket clip.
Like others have said the black backspacer looks out of place, they should have made it stonewashed to match the blade and clip. It’s a smaller knife, but it’s a great light use edc.

Really like the look of the copper scales and blade shape. However if I don't open the knife aggressively the lock bar won't engage and it asks as a slip joint. Also the detent was really strong and took some force to open the knife which I liked. However that's recently changed and there is no hold at all and the blade is loose and can just open on its own. Solid knife with some flaws
My review will echo many others. This knife is beautiful and mine came shaving sharp, even if the secondary bevels do have a slight wave in the grind. My fullers line up evenly as well. Blade centering is perfect and lockup is solid. I get about 40% lock bar engagement and there is zero side-to-side play. The deep carry pocket clip allows it to disappear into a pocket.

for the bad. As many have stated, the plastic back spacer really kills it. Nothing that a little chunk of copper and a mill can't remedy, but I'd prefer not to have to make my own. Also, my particular knife cannot be opened with the flipper alone. The detent is WAY too strong and requires me to both push the flipper and also pinch the blade and pull with my other hand. I've had mine for about a week and have opened and closed it several hundred times with no sign of it loosening up. I feel I'll likely have to punch the detent ball in to the lock bar as another review mentioned.
Other than the cheap spacer and the fact that I cannot use the knife one handed, I like it.

1 OVERALL ITS GORGEOUS! The copper scales, blade and hardware are bead blast finishes that give it a very cohesive look.
2 The D2 blade is huge for the grip,
It has a 2.75" blade in a 3.625" grip. Great job fitting this together.

4 Pivot screw is machined artwork, it reminds me of an older Porshe rim.
5 There is no lanyard hole, BUT the pocket clip has a hole at the end wear you can add a lanyard.

Edge system and it took a while to get the bevels even and sharp to the apex.
And the detent and lockup... ugh. Mine wasn’t super smooth out of the box and the detent was seriously strong. The jumping on the flipper tab is SHARP. Combine this with the overly strong detent and this a painful knife to open.
After disassembly, cleaning and inspection, the issue seems to be a too-large detent hole in the blade allowing the entire ball to drop into the hole. You have to overcome a tremendous amount of stiction to get the blade launched but once it gets going, it deploys quickly and securely.
The lock bar has some adjustability but there is a delicate relationship between lockup and detent and deployment. I couldn’t find the sweet spot, so I’m living with a painful action to deployment. Had I played with one in a store and experienced what I have, I wouldn’t have bought it.
Evidently there are better examples out there so maybe you get a good one. But for me... meh. If the detent was better, I’d be in my pocket a lot. I’m not sure it’ll see a lot of use though.

wouldn't lock up the blade unless my clip screws were installed on the right side. Looks like those screws actually act to stabilize the lock insert to enough of a degree that if you install them for left carry the insert has a bit of play, and this thing ain't locking! That's a bit of an issue.
But I like it even though it is small and hope it'll get better with age, especially once it develops a nice patina. That and I RHC

So I exchanged my original copper Natirx and this knife is noticeably better. First, hats off for the amazing customer service BladeHQ! Thank you for the free return shipping and super fast replacement. Second, this new copper Natrix was near perfect straight from the box. The detent was slightly stiff at first, but after a hundred or so flips the action is like butter now. This knife flips and closes better than some of my higher end production knifes that cost several hundred dollars more. I only wish this knife was made in the USA or even part of their ZT line. The D2 steel is sharp enough to shave with, and the blade alignment is perfect. With the copper Natrix, it really seems that the knife you receive is either a hit or a miss. Thank goodness this second knife was a hit because it makes a great EDC workhorse knife.

-The sharperst factory edge I ever saw. It's even sharper than my Spyderco PM 2 Limited Edition OD/Black blade S30V.
-Ultra deep deep-carry clip. It disappears in your pocket, and the stone washed clip blends with your clothing.
-Perfect weight. I thought it would be heavy, but carries almost imperceptible in your pocket.
-The BEST blade-to-handle ratio I've ever seen. I mean, the blade is not too big, but it is huge when compared to the size of the handle. For example, its cutting edge is the same as the Para 3, which is much bigger knife.
-The handles don't quite give you a four-finger purchase, but it's almost there. It is secure and comfortable enough. An eight of an inch smaller and it would need a lanyard.
-No thumb studs. God, I hate those things.
-Gorgeous looking little knife in general.
CONS:
-Speaking of lanyard, one of the cons is that there is no lanyard hole. You don't actually need a lanyard, but let's face it, we are buying this knife for the looks. So for the sake of looks I would want to stick a lanyard with a copper bead in it.
-I know the metal lockbar is a characteristic of the Natrix series, but I would much rather have a copper lockbar with a metal insert. ---The lockbar is metal, but it looks like plastic. Kershaw either couldn't or didn't bother to achieve the same stone wash finish as the blade. It's similar, but because the lockbar goes over the blade when the knife is closed, the difference is screaming on your face.
-A butt-ugly, cheap-looking plastic backspacer. I would remove it if I found out it is unnecessary. Does anyone knows about it? It's black, and there's a molding mark right through the middle. I really hope someone will come up with an aftermarket backspacer for this knife. I would definitely buy it.
-It's hard to close. This isn't much of an issue. You just gotta get used to not touching the lockbar when closing or opening. It's difficult to get used to it, though, because it is a small knife and the lockbar takes about 40 percent of the knife's width. But not a deal breaker. You just gotta get used to it.
-It's also difficult and painful to flip it open right out of the box. Action is way too stiff. I loosened it a little until the blade was uncentered, then pushed the blade back to center and tightened until it was still comfortable enough to flip it. I've had it for half a day, poured some oil over the bearings, and it's now easier, but far from not being painful on your finger. Don't expect to play with it all day, but in order to make it less stiff, playing with it all day is exactly what you need to do. The wide lockbar also gets in the way when opening. If you just rest your finger on it, it makes it even harder or impossible to flip it open. I'm confident that a few days with it will loosen up the knife, though.
-Speaking of flipping, the flip tab is raw. The ribs have way too sharp edges. Flip it enough and your finger will become raw too.
-Because of the grove on the upper part of the blade of the Natrix series, when you look at the spine from the top, it's common for it to be imperfect. That's the case with mine. Doesn't bother me much, but if it bothers you, be aware.
JUDGMENT:
All in all, there are some amazing copper knifes out there in the $600-$800 range, and some similar quality copper knives in the $150-$250 range. But with this Kershaw at $60, it is a steal, despite the shortcomings. I'd buy it again.
UPDATE
After a day and a half, it's easier to flip the knife, but by no means it's smooth. The detent is still strong. But the main problem is that as the flipping becomes snappier, the lockbar sinks deeper into the bottom of the blade. This makes it the lockbar even stickier and nearly impossible to close the knife with one hand. It's actually dangerous to try close it with one hand because if you slip your thumb while unlocking the lockbar (you need a lot of thumb pressure), you may drop the blade on your thumb. And that D2, let me tell you, is razor sharp.
Good for the money
I love this knife, that being said its got quite a few flaws. QC obviously wasn't great judging by some of the things ive seen and fit and finish could be a bit better on the grinds and a few other things. Hopefully Kershaw will take another crack at this maybe a larger size or if they could find a way to cover more of the lockbar the ease of opening and closing would be much easier on the little guy

so hard that it jams the blade open, and you need two hands to pop it out and release the lock. Hopefully the action will calm down once I've broken it in, but it seems very unrefined. Maybe this is a QC problem with my specific knife.
The blade edge on my knife was pretty inconsistent. It needs a resharpen (which I'm told is no fun with a D2 blade). And what surprised me most was the back spacer - it's made of cheap injection molded black plastic. You can see the tabs from the mold. For a knife that's made primarily to look good, this was a silly corner to cut.
It's not the worst knife I've ever bought, but there's no way it's worth $60. BladeHQ has the M390 Dividend for about $20 more, and that knife punches way above its pay grade. The Natrix Copper looks cool and unique enough, but the refinement and performance are on par with a $30 budget knife.
Kershaw killed it
This is one of the best looking knifes I have seen in the last few years if you like high quality and great looks this is a knife for your collection only thing wrong with it is I didn't order 2 wish it was USA made but all in all its great.

Great piece
It's awesome to see these materials from Kershaw. The design is great, looks great, feels great, works great. Detent is a little stiff for my taste but functions as indended. Love the copper and D2. Great knife Kershaw!

mine. That was something I was worried about. A few sub-$100 fullered knives I've seen are noticeably uneven between each side of the blade. The clip is great; super deep carry, which I like.
I love the weight and feel of the copper scales, and can't wait to see how it patinas.
I'm also tempted to force a green/blue patina on the 'shallows' (ie: the three recessed areas on the scale). I've done work like that before, with paint brushes, a vinegar/ammonia/salt solution, and on larger sheets of copper.
Lastly, it arrived clean inside and out. No factory grit, etc.
BAD: The edge grind is uneven. This doesn't effect cutting, but it is a bummer visually. Nitpick: I wish the backspacer wasn't black plastic. Barrel spacers or metal matching the clip and pivot would have been better, IMO.
One thing to note, and this doesn't bother me: I knew its dimensions going in, yet it still looks tiny in person. I'm cool with small knives, especially when they are as dense as this one. But, that's something to consider. If you have huge hands or hate cute, little knives, this might not be for you.
Overall, I think this knife is well worth the price, and I'm glad it finally released.

A great knife....with some reservations
I had pre-ordered this knife back when it first got previewed, When I finally got it in the mail I was quite happy with it. Now that I have had a chance to use it there are a couple of things that should be stated. The lockup is solid but there is quite a bit of lock stick, I think this is due to the fact that there is no lock bar insert. The fairly soft metal of the lock bar compared… read more to the hardened D2 steel of the blade causes a bit of abrasion to the lock bar face. I think this will get better with use or perhaps with some polishing of the lock faces. My biggest issue with the knife is that the cutout for releasing the lock bar, it's just a little bit too small. I end up having to press my thumb into the space between the face scale and the lock bar so much that it can actually be painful, but that's the only way to get a purchase on the lock bar to unlock the knife. More often I just unlock the knife with two hands. Other than that it is a beautiful knife, I love the copper scales and the little details in the design. I would love to have some custom hardware or backspacer for this knife to really make it my own.

So I’ll start with the good. The action on this knife is spot on. Excellent detent and super smooth on the ball bearings. So happy they didn’t do this one as a speedsafe model.
