Like many knife folks, I put a lot of research into every purchase. I bought the Maserin Police as a tactical knife for places I can't carry a firearm, and for my likes and needs no competitor seemed as good. The great deep carry clip means that even this heavier knife carries great in your usual pant pocket. Speaking of G10 the milling and overall finish on the scale is perfect, very handsome and gives solid grip. Jimping in the frame, liner and on the blade spine is excellent, further solidifies grip. Ergonomics are just as appears in the photos -- perfect. The action of the knife is fairly smooth but does take some minor break-in (mine is pretty much there after a couple dozen openings, break-in period was pretty negligible on my example). But notably, right out of box, it was easy for me to fail to get a full deployment. Even a " light-switch flick" doesn't guarantee full opening. That said, the slightest flick of the wrist in opening does, so no problem there, just not the snappiest folder. The detent could be a bit stronger, as the blade is fairly easy to shake out. Between the reinforced lock bar and the stop pin, lockup is very solid. Finally, no exaggeration, the blade is razor-blade sharp out of box, took off a good old clump of arm hair with a very light pass.
Overall, while the knife could be tuned up in very minor ways, it has amazing fit and finish, great functionality, and the kind of build that I personally want for a tactical knife that can serve in utility and self-defense roles. From an Italian maker no less. Knife comes very highly recommended, I think it will make you as happy as it makes me.
Beast of a knife
Hair popping sharp out of the box, bank-vault lockup, very thick blade for standing up to heavy duty use. Overall fit and finish of this knife is outstanding and it just plain looks great with the stonewash finish, fuller, and logo.
