I am in love.
Just recieved my new japanese knife. What a beauty... Sharp as hell and fits nicely in my hand. A great buy...Welcome to Sweden.
Japanese greatness
This under rated knife should be on every collectors wish list - mcusta manufactures some of the best in their country.
Easy to open and close
Solid lock up
Surprising ergonomics
Very similar to a Microtech socom in some aspects
This knife and brand carries exclusivity in my opinion
The Katana is a classy knife
It is well made, you get the San Mai which comes to a steep angle tanto. I love the pattern on the blade. There are no knives I have seen or felt like this knife. I have three of the colors of this knife. They open solidly and lock up tight. It's like a knife your grandfather would carry if he was Asian.
Fancy and well made.
This and the Gentleman's were purchased together. Mcusta makes quality and unique folders. I like the blue and orange and the deep carry pocket clip. The D2 blade has the nicest Tanto shape and resembles Damascus. No blade play. Easy thumb stud opening but needs breakin for flip-opening. The price is worth the purchase, but if you're saving for a small Sebenza, there is no comparison… read more Thank you.
Fantastic knife and a great bargain
This has been my first purchase from BHQ and first of all great service. Quick shipping with tracking and the package arrived in perfect condition. The knife itself is a knockout. Razor sharp out of box and more gorgeous in person that I could have believed. It's a lighter blue than pictured here which is good because the gold pairs perfectly with it. Very comfortable in hand although… read more slightly slick with little to no texture on the handle. Lockup is tight and the blade is perfectly centered. With a little thumb "umph" the blade snaps out lightning fast. Clips and carries comfortably and I've had no trouble with it catching when I'm drawing it out. $130 is a steal for this knife which does so much so well. Now I'm planning to buy the remaining color ways very soon.
Katana
I have been trying to get one of these for a couple of years, at least. It was on my wish list at Blade HQ, as soon as they notified me these were in stock I bought one. Now I see why they are so popular, it is an excellent knife. You would think it is worth twice as much as it costs. The blue seems to be a bit lighter than in the picture. The blade is extremely sharp. My advice… read more is get one while you can!
Fantastic Blade
I've owned this blade for a year now.
The entire knife feels solid and definite, and the handle provides an unexpected amount of grip. The action is amazing for anything short of a custom knife- I often feel like I'm opening a spring assisted knife instead.
The blade itself, made of san-mai clad VG10, is awesome. It was bloody sharp out of the box and maintained that…

edge incredibly long. I only felt the need to touch it up again about a week ago, and it wasn't hard to get it back to razor sharp.
It's also one of the most beautiful knives I own.
Two notes to buyers;
-The action seemed to get scratchy about a week after I got it. After disassembling, lubricating, reassembling, then fiddling around with the tensions and working it in, I haven't had a problem since.
-The blade is by no means zero-maintenance. I regularly wipe it down with oil and keep it dry to prevent rusting. If you don't pay attention to it, it'll get bad pretty easily. (It's VG-10 steel, so that's expected.)
