About SOG Aegis

This folding knife from SOG is a wallet-friendly cutter with a slender build and swift opening action. Though steel is notoriously heavy, it is also notoriously strong. This knife has a steel handle to claim the latter attribute, but both scales are thin, minimizing the weight at the cost of an inconsequential amount of toughness, striking a perfect balance. Slip this guy deep into your pocket and feel confident carrying a durable knife without suffering the remorse of a substantially thinned wallet.

Excellent knife for the money

I generally shy away from super budget knives but these are actually great for the price. There is no bladeplay in any of them. The factory edges are sharp and the action was ridiculioisly good on two of them for a knife under $20. They are great users and won't hurt yout wallet. You really can't lose with these knives.

It is a very sturdy knife for me. It's one of my EDC's. It came out the box razor sharp, & has been that way from day one. I took a chance & its my favorite sog knife. It can handle any task.

Bought a couple. Heavy knife to carry in your pocket. I purchased a leather sheath for it and carry it on my belt. Works much better that way, at least for me.

For 15 bucks its a good knife overall, nice in the hand and pretty smooth. I would definitely recommend it

Surprised On The Upside

I was initially reluctant to buy this knife because like many of you reading this, I'm somewhat of a knife snob. Did I really want to buy a SOG? Ultimately the answer was yes, and I'm glad I did.

Is it the best steel in the world? Nope. But you can do a lot worse than 8Cr13Mov, also used in knives like the CRKT CEO, Spyderco Tenacious, and Cold Steel Luzon. The stainless read more steel body is a nice throwback to a time before G-10, Micarta, and carbon fiber ruled the market. It's also way smoother than I anticipated, and though I did have to make a minor adjustment to the pivot upon unboxing, the fidget factor has been top-notch ever since. Also, 3.75 in is a lot of blade for the money, regardless of materials.

Fellow knife snobs -- I really don't think you'll be disappointed in what you get for a price this low Get off the fence and buy it.

I'm really starting to like this knife. I'm new to the knife world, so I've made a few inexpensive purchases to get familiar with carrying/using. First impression was that it was too big/heavy...but it has grown on me. The ergos are great and I love how thin it is. I guess that's due to the frame lock. It also flips out like butter. I thought I liked flippers but this one now has read more me thinking I might need to try more thumb studs. To top it off, I really love the stone washed matte finish. Overall, considering this was like $13. I have to give it 5 stars.
