The new Aegis AT-XR rocks!

I have a mini Aegis from a decade or more ago and loved it. When I saw this new one, had to have. Does not disappoint. Take note it is hard to get the blade moving at first. So much so I almost returned it. A little oil and breaking in and this baby is good to go. It's action is perfect now, love it!

Not for EDC

I'm enjoying this knife but there are a few things that I don't like about it. First off the colors for this series is terrible, the green is the least flashy so that's what I bought. I'm a simple man, a basic black would be perfect for me. Next up the blade honestly feels small compared to the handle. It just feels/seems off to me, like they left the blade shorter for some reason. read more Besides all of that, it works great. The locking is good, the safety is built so it's not annoying. The pocket clip however was. Besides the screws not being flat and sticking up to grab your pocket, the clip itself isn't comfortable and seems a bit off to me. This knife will be a decent bug-out bag item, unfortunately, I have many knives better for EDC than this one. So it won't be in the rotation long and may be gifted to a friend. Don't get me wrong, I like the knife but for EDC they really screwed the pocket clip and the way it goes in your pocket. The first time I put it in my pocket it tore the side of the pants because the screws stick too far out. I tried to tighten them more but they're all the way down, they just made a terrible choice on the type screws they used.

SOG Aegis AT-XR Lock Knife Indigo GRN

I bought the Aegis AT-XR as a second act. I bought the original AE-01 SOG Aegis 20 years ago. It was innovative, light and well made. I was so impressed, I never used it.
Flash forward today, bought the new Aegis AT-XR...
It does not disappoint. Light. Strong. Safe.
SOG improved an already innovative knife, and updated it with a Cryo D2 blade, ambidextrous design, and a read more little splash of color as the cherry on top.
Buy it. You will not be disappointed.
