Nice little knife

David H.

Smooth action. Seems well made. Nicely finished. For a relatively small knife, ergonomics are good, unlike with the Persistence model I used to have. Further, this knife is relatively slim and disappears in the pocket...unusual for a Spyderco.

Overall, I like this knife very much. I haven't had it long enough to give it 5 stars, though.

Good Build Quality

The build quality on this knife is very good for this price point. I think this knife compares favorably with the Ontario Rat II. I am however going to give the Rat II D2 the advantage due to better ergonomics in my hand and pocket, better D2 steel and a better price.

Beautiful knife, jimping would make it perfect.

A beautiful knife. It came super sharp out of the box. When it's open, it almost looks like the blade won't fit in the handle. For the price, there is no reason for it not to have any jimping at all, and I think that is a huge miss Spyderco. Overall very pleased, and I would repurchase it without hesitation. I hope they make a larger version of the astute and include jimping! The read more only other thing I could say needs improvement is some skeletonization of the liners.

Unbelievable!

Great spyderco for a minimal price. Perfect EDC knife. Buy it before they’re all gone.
