About Spyderco Centofante

The Centofante 3 has a thin-profiled, lightweight FRN handle. Two channels are furrowed out of the handle for better grip and a Palladium silver Spyderco bug is inlayed into its surface. For added security and convenience the back-lock is positioned midway on the spine and David Boye Dent is cut from the locking lever. The VG-10 blade has both a hollow-grind and swedge-grind with non-sharpened spine serrations (jimping) to hold the thumb steady when cutting. A black steel pocket clip positions for tip-up/down, right-hand carry. If you move in custom knife industry circles and/or attend knife shows you will have heard of Frank Centofante. In addition to being a celebrated and longtime custom knifemaker Frank is a past President of the Knifemaker's Guild, a strong voice in the cutlery world and a revered and respected craftsman. Great EDC

Noah E.

I love this knife. It's been in my pocket for the last month since I got it. Fantastic ergos, blade is exceptionally sharp out of the box, lightweight and good size in the pocket. It takes a little practice, but once you get the one hand open/close it makes the knife even better to use. Some downsides are that it comes as tip down/right hand carry and once you switch it to tip up/right read more hand carry there is a small recess where the pivot is. Not a big deal but it looks a little funny. I also didn't like the black pocket clip but I sanded the black off and now it looks much better. The little silver spider on the handle fell off after about two weeks too. Luckily I found it and glued it back on but it was still a bit annoying. It's also pinned so there is no way to disassemble if that's something you're into. Overall, this is a great EDC knife. It cuts amazingly well and can tackle just about any everyday kind of task. The price is also great because you can really put this knife to work and not feel too bad about dinging it up. Highly recommend.

I carried this everyday for about 3 years and i love this knife. Great slim profile and super comfortable grip. Amazing slicer. I highly recommend this knife for someone who wants a great gentleman's folder.

Excellent Lightweight EDC

This knife is really excellent. Beautiful lines, excellent blade shape, and an extremely thin grind for an amazing slicer. Worst part about this thing is the pocket clip. Wish it wasn’t painted, I went ahead and had a custom titanium one made for myself, but other than that this knife is a winner!

Great first Spyderco

I got this knife to learn how to hand sharpen knives. It was my fist Spyderco and first modern folder. While it served its purpose, I kinda regret learning on it because it's now scratched up, and I wish I kept it more pristine.

I’ve purchased three knives from Blade HQ in the last month and this knife is really outstanding. Super sharp out of the box and easy to sharpen when needed. Great steel, smooth operation and very light to carry. Very glad I purchased it

Great work knife

Came razor sharp, I could shave with it out of the box. I I've had this knife for years and the only problem I had was losing the clip and spyderco logo inlay after dropping it a few times. Great knife and I'd highly recommend it.

Sidenote: this is the knife Izaya uses in Durarara which is also just a cool little side note.

A lightweight favorite

This is a great precision knife in an insanely slim and lightweight package. The blade is perfect for slicing and it sits tightly in pocket. It actually handles difficult cutting above its paygrade without an issue.

The Centofante 3 is by far my favorite EDC knife, the aesthetics of this knife are amazing and the VG10 steel is wonderful as always, I love this knife so much so that I just ordered another one.

Best deal ever!

I waited way too long to buy this knife. I loved it at first sight, but upon watching a couple reviews, I let the pinned construction scare me off. Until one day I was cleaning up a Case hunter that had been in my tackle box for a decade and still has no blade play. So I pulled the trigger on this fantastic knife that outshines the delica (no easy feat) for the same money! I really read more believe that if Spyderco fans weren't so attached to the full flat grind, this knife would outsell the delica hands down!

Centafonte 3.... The Perfect Urban EDC

Gilberto E.

The best edc knife is the knife that you carry and forget it is there until the moment you need it. That is exactly what this is... it is the perfect size and weight, handsome to look at, and therefore wearable with just abut any clothing from shorts to tux. The blade is hollow ground but you would never know that until you actually look at it because it cuts as good as a full flat read more ground blade. It is also surprisingly tough and can do some of what heavier bigger folders can do in a pinch and for a limited amount of time... but its perfect purpose is as a light duty gentleman's folder and this is what it excels at! It does all that at a price so good that if you bust it (Not Likely) or loose it, it won't break your bank... so buy 2... I did!
