Waiting patiently
Ordered this last night and am eagerly awaiting. I have the Spyderco GB1 and love it. The GB2 has been out of stock but last night I just happened to look and it was back- I thought I was going to have to pick one up on the resale market so I am stoked to find one here. Ten years ago the knife snob in me would have never purchased a made in Taiwan knife but after using the GB1 I…

wad blown away. I am looking forward to see the difference in weight with the GB2 and the feel of the knife in hand. The GB 1 for me was the bargain Holy grail knife of the century so I hope I'm not disappointed in this one.
Thanks bhq for getting this restocked.
Amazing Craftsmanship
It is hard to put into words how nice this knife feels in the hands. I have spent over an hour enjoying looking over every detail of this Bradley 2. This is my third Spyderco and by far my favorite, as noted by others, using the liner lock is a little hit and miss (my fault, pressing down helps alot) there is zero chance it will accidentally close when in use. This knife is a beauty.… read more You get a lot of knife for your money, its worth every cent
Great Knife!
I'm greatly impressed with this knife. M4 hollow ground blade is amazing and super slicey! Handle feels good in my hand and I like the carbon fiber look. Lock up is very good and no blade blade. Can tell this knife was meant for hard use. Only use is liner lock is a little hard to access and a bit sharp on thumb. Deployment hole is also a little sharp but these don't really bother… read more me since knife wasn't designed to fidget a lot with. Overall, I love this knife and glad I picked one up.
90% there.
Great blade, super sharp and comfortable in the hand. Love the hollow grind and how sharp it came from the factory.
However I know its a common complaint but the lock leaves a bit to be desired. You can probably live with it, I know I can.
Its a bit big for EDC, for me anyway. If its was my only knife it wouldn't be a good EDC, depending on your pants there is a pocket joke…

Bradley 2
First off my wife things this is the best looking knife I own and I own way to many. It is the smoothest knife I own, opening this one is fun and easy. M4 steel is great, hollow grinds aren't my favorite but work well in folders and makes this a great slicer with the M4 steel makes it workable with wood and other harder substances you might want to cut. The feature so you don't… read more accidentally undue the liner lock is good and bad, bad that it makes the knife less flick-able for those who love to play with their knives, because closing takes some concentration. Outside of that it's a great knife with no real complaints and for the money a good buy.
Holy Crap!!
This knife is so slicey! I've had it for just a few days nows and I'm enjoying putting it to work. I work in a manufacturing plant which had tons of thick plastic binding on pallets than need to be cut off as well as tons of cardboard to be broken down and this knife just glides through it. This is my first time owning M4 and it is a tad jaw dropping. The edge retention is just… read more ridiculous, it could be my new favorite steel. I personally also enjoy the ergos on it. The fit and finish are very well done, the detent is dialed nicely and the lock-up is very solid. Why did I wait so long on buying this knife?! Definitely worth the money. There is one thing however that would make it better...Micarta scales, come on Spyderco, embrace the micarta!
Let's get this straight
Reading other comments has been very frustrating, "is not refined enough" " the liner lock is hard to manipulate" boo-hoo-hoo. This is A WORK KNIFE, the carbon fiber isn't for pretty looks it's for weight. The liner is hard to manipulate so you have to really want it to close not have it close to easily when editing it hard. Stainless liners are thick remember WORK KNIFE. The carbon… read more fiber is rough on edges so it gives better grip especially even wearing gloves. If you understand the purpose of this knife it's one of the best hard use work knives around, period!
Function over fidget factor
If you buy this knife you probably already understand what M4 will do, out-slice everything and patina while doing it. (I suggest Frog Lube CLP, which is FDA approved, if you want to prevent patina) This knife is the best slicer I have used that is still pretty beefy. The only drawback to this wonderful knife is that it won’t be as fun to fidget with compared to most other EDC… read more blades, but if you’re looking at this you most likely have other knives to cover that need. Highly recommend.
The good, bad and ugly
There's so much to like about this knife. The carbon fiber scales have a 3D look. The stainless steel lines has been skeletonized for weight reduction. The clip has four position option. Now the bad. The blade steel is subpar. The last thing I want in my carry knife is rust. If you don't upgrade the steel than coat it, easy fix. The ugly. The clip is horrible. Come on Spyderco.… read more At least give us a SS clip and whats up with the frame shape. There's a hump right in front of the spidy hole which makes it harder to deploy.
Too good a knife for the problems it has.
3/5? Seriously?
Seriously.
The blade is truly excellent, and I don't even mind that it will patina/rust.
Using a linerlock is fine; I kind of prefer them to framelocks. But unlocking the GB2 is just too difficult, and the sharp, serrated edge of the liner (needed to give you a chance to move it over with minimal access) eats up my callouses.
I love the look…

of the liners peeking out from under the scales, and I don't actually think the width and weight are that big a problem, but they are at cross-purposes with most attributes of the knife.
This is a knife that can't make up its mind. It's not refined enough in open/close feel and pocket carry to be a gent's folder like other Spydercos are, but the liners and CF scales look kind of silly on a beater. If you don't make those distinctions among your knives, you might not care; I think it's one of the more ergonomic knives for cutting since the handle is so thick, but the way it tears up your thumb to unlock totally kills that benefit for my purposes.
I sold mine quickly. If you had to have just one knife, this one would be pretty OK with some tweaks, but I need eay-to-open slim knives more than I need good-looking knives that have big handles.
One of the all-time greatest
The Gayle Bradley to is one of my all-time favorite Spyderco knives. I was hesitant to buy it for a long time because I thought it would be too big but once I got one I love the size, I love the cutting edge, love the blade shape, and it is just all-around great knife. You can’t beat the price and the M4 steel is so easy to sharpen take such a keen edge.
Perfect gentleman folder
Simply the perfect edc for the gentleman... if you're looking for the WOW effect... this is it! Easy to open... sharp like a razor... the carbon fiber handle is perfect in hand... The only thing to notice is the blade steel... one characteristic is that it stain very easily… some people say that it give character to the blade, some simply hate this…
Designed Poorly
The execution of the knife is good but the design is just not for me. I would prefer that all rust prone EDC blades be coated, it makes for less maintenance. The oversized liners have sharp edges, I like the flush fit or even better, nested liners. The Spyder hole is partially obstructed, and the liner lock is stiff and more difficult to reach because of the lack of cut out on the… read more other side. I do like the thinness in the pocket and the action but it is overshadowed by the design flaws.
Love this knife
This is one of the best knives I own. Very sharp, good solid lock up and super nice fit and finish. If I could give it 10 stars I would.
In my top 5
This is one of my favorite knives of all time. Although I carry it often I also carry it when I dress up. I love M4 steel and the feel it just right.
Great edc folder
Love the M4 tool steel. Size and heft are spot on. Crazy thick liners. Would like to see the sharp edges beveled off (then I could see a five star rating). And would love to see this offered in a framelock. Hint-hint Spyderco...
Good but not a GB1
I like this knife, and I'm only knocking it because Spyderco could have improved the GB1 and they only made the knife less compelling. The GB1 is the better knife by far (Just my opinion). The only thing, the GB2 is superior in is the slicing ability. This is much thinner behind the edge as compared to the GB1. With that being said, this knife fails in egos, has a bitey liner lock… read more (yes took skin off), and does not allow you to chock up. It is also a longer knife than the GB1. Why?.The GB2 could have improved on several of the GB1's letdowns; mainly the G10/CF. I hate that stuff so much. Also, why not put the compression lock on here? Or even a frame lock. Hopefully the GB3 will address this. I would love to see the GB3 with a finger choil, marbled carbon fiber, deep carry clip, and a slightly shorter blade length. Again, just my opinion, but if you have to have a Gayle Bradley go with the 1.
What a beauty
Just picked this one up from you guys. What a great knife! Took it apart polished the washers and lived it up and it is smooth as silk. Perfect weight for its size and screams quality. Would recommend to anyone who likes a larger pocket carry and looking for the high quality m4 steel.
Awesome knife
Great EDC. A true workhorse blade with superior slicing ability. The M4 steel is amazing; holds an amazing edge for a long time, while still maintaining toughness. Not corrosion resistant, but this hasn’t been an issue. Just wipe it down after use and don’t put away wet. Possible to add forced patina if you wish. Disengaging the liner lock is a bit tricky at first. The scale… read more is not cut out, so it can a bit rough on the thumb until you build a callus. Awesome lock up. Scales are pretty sweet too. This quickly replaced my PM2 as my primary EDC.
My favourite EDC
Great Spyderco fit & finish combined with a more mainstream pattern. This knife is, in my opinion, the best bang for the buck in Spyderco’s portfolio. At only a bit more than a standard PM2, you get a larger blade, and more grip-flexible handle, M4 steel, a slicier edge, and less pocket-shreddy scale material.
Awesome Spyderco
Great knife with a great price. It carries very well and deploys fast. The slinder blade is sharp and the carbon fiber grips are very nice. Its almost to pretty to use. I'm from Texas so this is a perfect knife for me with the state on the blade.
Ultimate cutting knife
I got the knife because I wanted to try the steel, however when it arrived I was much more impressed with the knife itself. The fit and feel are great. When wearing a suit I pack this knife. It is like my .44mag for the tuxedo. The hollow ground blade is exceptional when cutting thick leather/elk hide. Not the easiest knife to clean but the M4 is one of my favorites now. Other than…

the fact it's is probe to rusting it is a hard to beat EDC.
Great workhorse, rust prone
Firstly, this knife is amazingly smooth, like close to bearing smooth (it runs on phosphor-bronze washers). Secondly, it will cut, and cut, and cut for a long time before the edge gives out. Lastly (my only gripe), the M4 tool steel used has been more prone to surface rust than any other blade tool steel Ive owned (d2, cruwear). I don't live in a particularly wet climate but anytime… read more i would sweat at work, id have surface rust build on the blade. Its a great steel it just requires more maintenance than most. As always, blade HQ shipped it quick, which is why I keep coming back.
A truly great EDC knife!
This knife is everything I hope for in an EDC knife. The ergonomics are top shelf with the jimping on the blade's spine giving just the right amount of grip over the great looking carbon fiber handle scales. I also love the M4 steel, which holds its edge even when cutting thick cardboard for a long time while still not being hard to restore to shaving sharp on the Spyderco sharpmaker.… read more I also love the size as I can carry it with jeans, shorts or even business attire and barely notice the weight in my pocket. Finally, mine also came with perfect blade centering and the liner lock (which is plenty strong) providing rock solid lockup which has not changed despite substantial use.
Perfect EDC
This knife is exceptionally sturdy. The lock-up is very secure and the overall fit and finish is immaculate. The carbon fiber is fairly smooth and provides a great texture to combine with the ergonomics of the handle, which makes for a comfortable grip. The blade came hair whittling sharp. Overall, this is a really impressive knife and almost immediately became one of my most favorite… read more knives from Spyderco.
