Fun design with a very interesting lock

Eric Kusse

I have been collecting Spyderco knives since 1991 and have well over 250 knives in total. I purchased the Parata to add a 'Stop Lock' to my collection and I am not disappointed - this lock is cool and appears very strong. The ergonomics are excellent in my large hands and feels the same in both hands. The blade came as sharp as VG10 can get and the grind on mine was even. The only read more possible fault I see in the example I received is there are sharp corners on the grippy G10 of the handle which the Seki City plant failed to put any sort of bevel on. Maybe this is the desired finish of this knife but it's not nearly as comfortable to touch as the G10 on say a PM2, Milli or anything from the Colorado plant. All and all, this knife reminds me of quality and types of knives Spyderco produced in the late 1990's and early 2000's.
