About Spyderco Swayback

Inspired by 19th century English Jack Knives, the sway back pattern is a stylish and extremely functional cutting tool. In his latest Spyderco collaboration, renowned Polish knifemaker Marcin Slysz supercharges this classic design by rendering it with state-of-the-art materials and craftsmanship. The SwayBack’s hollow-ground Wharncliffe blade is crafted from CTS XHP stainless steel and has a handsome stonewashed finish. It is housed in an open-backed handle constructed with solid titanium scales. Both scales are beautifully crowned for comfort and the reverse-side scale forms the foundation of a sturdy Reeve Integral Lock (R.I.L.) with a stainless steel interface.A polished stainless steel clip provides convenient carry and is reversible for left or right-side tip-up access.

I carry this knife every day, and use it to cut cardboard and everything else that's needed. Why? It cuts better than most blades, and is one of the very smoothest that I own. The CTS-XHP steel holds an actual razor hair popping edge longer than most of the high vanadium steels that lose that aspect rapidly and settle down to a working edge and hold the working edge longer, however read more the xhp strops easily back to that razor edge when it gets slightly dull. I sharpened it once on my Wicked Edge, and I have never had to sharpen it again after months of use. The polished hollow ground Wharncliffe blade seems immune to scratches with use. As you can tell, I polished the scales and flame anodized it, and opened the blades' access cutout. In my opinion, (for what it's worth) :), this is one of the best every day carry knives, and the craftsmanship is superb, as good as some of my Russian knives that cost three to four times as much.

I love this knife! Hollow grind wharncliffe makes for an incredible cutter, and the design is super sexy. Pockets well, and makes for a surprisingly slim profile on a pretty good sized blade. I would absolutely buy this again and now I’m looking at the other knives of the same designer ?
