Spyderco Watu
About Spyderco Watu
Drawing inspiration from the traditional knife of the Chokwe people of Central and Southern Africa, the original Spyderco Chokwe was a revered member of our Ethnic Series of Knives. The Watu continues this proud tradition, translating the original ethnic pattern into an even smaller, handier form. Its distinctive triangular blade is full-flat-ground from CPM 20CV stainless steel and paired with an open-backed, coffin-shaped handle with full, skeletonized stainless steel liners, a high-strength Compression Lock mechanism, and stunning carbon fiber/G-10 laminate scales. These features are complemented by a reversible deep-pocket wire clip that offers a choice of left or right-side, tip-up carry.

Favorite EDC of all time
I have a decent collection from multiple Benchmades, Fox, MMK, and other Spyderco. Without a doubt the Watu is my favorite EDC (Mini Bugout is pretty great too). I say this for two reasons. It's stunning to look at and hold, but it's also very practical in that the blade is great for every kind of cutting imaginable. It makes a great chef knife when camping, but also performs great…

in day to day tasks.
In my experience the edge retention of this CPM 20SV is significantly better than 30SV. I'm not sure if that's what BHQ tests show, but in real world use for me it's definitely the case.
This is a knife where I feel like the price is justified. Highly recommended.
Another Success from Spyderco!
IMHO, bang for your buck, you simply cannot beat Spyderco. I own several. To the Watu, this is made in Spyderco's Taichung, Taiwan facility, and they do this thing right! The Watu fits in my L/XL hands very well. The Spyder Hole deployment is very smooth. Lock-up is perfectly tight. Big fan of the compression lock. The CF/G10 scales are classic and functionally they are nice and… read more grippy. Overall ergos are darn near perfect. Deep setting pocket clip/wire. Very concealable but not a small knife. CPM-20CV blade steal make this an excellent knife for the money.
Watu WOW
This is my first Spyderco knife. This knife will be my EDC for a while. Right out of the box I was completely impressed. The fit and finish is way beyond what I was anticipating. The action needs zero break in. If you’re looking for a knife that’s a little out of the ordinary look no further. Buy this knife you won’t regret your decision.
Wow Just Wow
Love the scales. Ergos are just great for my hands. Pics are a bit boring, but in-hand is another story. It's so premium feeling. New favorite EDC knife.
YES!!!!!
This is a knife like no other. I ordered this as my first pre-buy. The pics do not do this knife any justice.
The blade action is so buttery smooth it literally falls open when released in down position. Fit and finish is on the same level of Wilson Combat.
My favorite Knife in my collection at the moment.
