Outstanding

Every time I pick this knife up, I can feel the immense quality put into it. This thing basically flips itself and I have never felt a better balanced knife. The one thing I don't like about it is that the dual toning is made from raw aluminum which unfortunately requires polishing and cleaning. The cleaning solution I used to clean the raw aluminum ended up stripping tiny parts read more of the teal coating that it touched. Besides that, amazing knife.

I've bought several of these Krake Rakens they all flip and sound like a dream the tolerances are unbelievably good. I have one that I beat up daily for about half a year now still no noticable change in the feel or sound no tap I've never had to try to tune it it's always just been like the day I bought it. I own both blade styles and the bowie is my personal favorite to flip

Good flipper

Obviously, an insanely good flipper but whoever assembles these balis needs to stop putting so much red Loctite in the pivots or stop putting Loctite to begin with it is a pain in the rear end to maintain this thing with that much in the pivots

Top Frickin Tier!!!!

My first Squid live blade, holy Jeebus it's one of the best flippers I have ever had the privilege of playing with. This thing begs you to flip it, the perfect balance for me, perfect size for big hands, ultra-smooth action, ABSOLUTELY ZERO handle play and rub! This knife came straight out of the box perfectly! I had to do a double-take as I thought maybe they sent me a Jerry Hom read more by mistake, I was floored with how perfect it was straight out of the box. The sound the handles make when open or close is amazing as well. Who knew aluminum could sound so good? Squidmaster did, that's who. If you are just getting into flipping and want an S-tier knife but don't wanna spend 500 bucks, get one of the Krake Raken variations, even the trainer came as perfect as the live blade. I have beat this thing to hell and back and still have not had to tune any tap out. Just a fantastic production knife, I would put it up against a custom any day. There is a reason so many A-list flippers at Bali Comp and the others flip the Krake Raken (I still call mine the KRAKEN), it's fantastic. A great knife for beginners and veterans alike in my opinion. Get one as soon as you can, you will not regret it, unless of course you just don't want one, and that's cool too.

High Quality Balisong

The way this thing feels in the hand is wild. The edges are buttery smooth with the perfect texture in the center right where you need it for great grip. The sound this balisong produces is borderline sexual. Absolutely love this knife. :)

Also came out of the box with 0 tap 0 play.

easy to tune, smooth flipper, quiet. The only downside is that you'll be terrified of dropping it on hard surfaces lol. has a sharp blade, great handle texture, and murnax ladders like a god.

Kids these days...

Okay, so I'm not some next-level flipper and I'm not one of those kiddies with the Squiddies you see huddled in the corner at BladeShow.

But, I can flip (not terribly) and I've been a knife collector for over 20 years, which of course includes Balisongs. So my point of reference is: Benchmade 42, and 87, Microtech Tachyon and Urbanfly, BRS Alpha and Replicant, and probably read more a couple others I'm forgetting.

The fit and build quality on this thing is quite good, very good in fact. The action is smooth and the overall design feels neutral & balanced. And, it is remarkably quiet--surprisingly so. I was a bit skeptical at the price-tag for such a new "trainer" company in a world already overcrowded with new knife makers, but these guys have it figured out. No gimmick, just a very "playable" knife that wants to be handled and can be pushed while also being forgiving. I also love the simple and straight blade geometry, I'm getting a bit tired of so many bali blades looking like a sport-shoe logo, but that's just my thing.

Performance flipper at a great price

Wanting to get into flipping but don't want to drop $400 or more on a solid flipper? This balisong flips as good if not better than staples like the Alpha Beast, Replicant, Basilisk etc at nearly half the cost. The bushings are on point and the overall balance is fairly neutral with an ever so slight rear bias- perfect for most flipping styles.

It's not winning any awards read more for EDC but for flipping, this is one of the best balisongs money can buy, including midtechs and customs.

Absolute best bang for your buck when it comes to flipping

Hands down the most fun flipper that is in production. Handles are a little slippery but tolerances are great and the flipping stupidly satisfying. I thought all the hype was because a lot of people started out on squid stuff but no, this bali stands on its own with no need of it's predecessors.

Not much of a practical knife as the handles are aluminum and the blade steel read more leaves a lot to be desired so if you're looking for knife-knife this isn't for you. If you're looking for something freaking awesome to flip at an affordable price (relatively) this knife beats most others in spades.

Longevity is yet to be seen but so far one of my absolute favorite flippers.
