About The Vox Dapper Knife by Blade HQ | Natural Micarta
The Dapper is the perfect size for EDC. It has a reversible, deep-carry, wire pocket clip, and is small and slim in the pocket. When in use, the contoured handle fills the hand comfortably, and the middle finger falls perfectly into the finger groove. The knife opens smoothly with a fLipper, and the fLipper tab conceals itself in the handle when open. The Dapper has a snappy lock that is addictive when opening and closing. QC unacceptable for $160
I was very excited for this knife I thought it looked great and was the righ size for me. Ergonomically the knife feels great that is why it gets 2 stars. But after just 3 days (only 2 in the pocket) the knife became very inconsistent when opening. I started to notice that the knife scraped like crazy when closing and opening it. Been waiting for this knife a long time.
I don't know if my opinion will help a lot of people as I genuinely dont like 95% of most knife designs. I have been waiting for a small knife in Micarta with a wire pocket clip that didn't look silly for a very long time. It was a bonus that it was designed by Jesper my favorite designer.

well. This knife just works. It is big enough that it can do a ton of things a 3 or 3.5 in knife can do but is also small and excels at tasks a smaller knife is good for. Truly bridges the gap and is just a great all around tool. I have small hands and prefer smaller knives with a clean mid century aesthetic. Think Finn Juhl but most knife makers don't model knives off of mid century Danish design. This very well could be the knife I use for the rest of my life.
I will say it took about two weeks to break it in for it to really shine and the sharpening grind wasn't perfect but it was as sharp as any knife I have ever had out of the box and other than the sharpening grind I didn't find any of the QC issues other people have.
Wonderful compact edc
I recently received this knife as a Christmas present and absolutely love it. Though I have medium-large hands, the ergonomics are great (something I can’t claim about some of my other knives of similar blade length) and the action is exceptional. I normally don’t like to carry a knife this nice but can’t go back to anything cheaper from my drawer. I have heard others have… read more issues with the quality control but I can’t find anything on mine; lockup is great, there is no blade play, and I have had no issues with it snagging on pockets. All of the jimping is great for locking the hand into place on a relatively small knife. This will be staying I my pocket for the foreseeable future but I would love to see some more color options down the road.
A lot of QC issues
My knife came and at first I was very excited. After putting it in my pocket I noticed it was snagging. The wire clip was tightened too tight in production and was sticking out of the scales. I then took a closer look at the rest of the knife. The blade was heavily off center and the pivot was already partially stripped making adjustment impossible. On top of it all, after opening… read more and closing the blade to try and break it in, I noticed the liner lock is sticking and sometimes the blade is very hard to close. I am currently in the process of trying to exchange it for a new one. For a $160 knife these flaws shouldn't exist. Hopefully it was a fluke.

hoping for. Blade is very sharp. Keep in mind that if is a very small knife, but I knew that already.
What I am most pleased about is that the Micarta is actually contoured and has that textured feeling that it looks like it should have. Too many times I have seen Micarta knives that look great but when you get them in hand they are slick and have little to no texture. Thankfully the Dapper has quality Micarta. It may not quite be on the same level as TRM’s 3D contoured Micarta, but it’s not far off. I like the Micarta on CJRB knives like the Ria or the Blade HQ Micarta Feldspar. If you’ve handled those, I can tell you that the Micarta on the Dapper is as good or better, and that is high praise IMO. Anyway, mine turned out perfect so thank you Blade HQ and Vox. This one is gonna get a lot of pocket time!
