A great spear point OTF auto pocket knife
This knife is just a lot of fun to flip open and close. It feels light, but solid when you hold it in your hand. It's very quick. I like that they used the higher quality S30V steel over D2 and lesser steels for the blade. It came very sharp out of the box. I would say this blade is made for piercing but can handle other tasks like slicing and cutting. Overall, very happy with this… read more knife.

I just purchased this knife and I am a fan of Benchmade Knives and have several examples. This is my least favorite. It is probably the dullest Benchmade I have ever purchased. The finish is chalky and gets dirty rapidly. I bought this instead of a Microtech as this knife was cheaper by a few bucks. I wish I would have bought the Microtech.
Quickly became my favorite EDC
Great pocket toy for opening boxes and letters and normal domesticated life. Sits nice in the pocket, the clip does not scratch or snag my hand or coat.
Great steel, I had to cut some ornamental grass out of the snow blower (that had wrapped itself around the shaft in a wad) and I wasn't gentle (it was cold). I went inside to touch up the edge and it was still razor sharp.…

For that price buy it!
I tried the Precipe along with the Infidel. The Precipe had a tad bit more blade wobble but as long as Benchmade will stand behind their product if something goes wrong it shouldn't be. a big problem.
Infidel handle is prettier and it has a better name. However, for 200.00 less I will take the discontinued Precipe and be happy.

This design is some what elegant, i like the clean lines,the action is as crisp and sharp as the blade
4700 Precipice D/A OTF
Solid OTF knife. Conceals well. Handle texture is spot on. No slippage when tested on those horrible mean watermelon! Hand became very slick, then I tried it on a 4x4 piece of wood. Clips deep and solid in your pocket. Love the spear point single edge S30V blade. Will shave nose hairs. Thank you Blade HQ for the sale price. Benchmade does know what their doing, btw.

Best pocket knife I have ever owned. Comes sharp right out of the box and works beautifully. Very high quality piece.

My third Benchmade auto, first OTF. All the quality I expected, very sharp, good steel, good weight to carry and a sale price that absolutely could not be beat. I'm very pleased with Blade HQ!

Ultratech Alternative?
This is a solid little spine-fire OTF, and the S30V is definitely nice. The action is extremely snappy and the trigger is nicely tuned, with a definite engagement point. However, at this price it's in direct competition with the famed Ultratech, so I guess it's really down to personal preference which one you'd rather have.
