This 4700 Precipice MODel comes equipped with a satin finish CPM-S30V blade and a black anodized aluminum handle. The blade comes in a spear point style with a plain cutting edge.The Benchmade Precipice is a sleek, spine-fire OTF automatic with a stealthy tactical design. A side mounted thumbslide provides smooth automatic action for rapid blade deployment. The handle is made from black anodized 6061-T6 aluminum that has been contoured for an Ergonomic fit in hand. It's outfitted with a spear point blade made from CPM-S30V steel for a high performance cutting edge. A great spear point OTF auto pocket knife
This knife is just a lot of fun to flip open and close. It feels light, but solid when you hold it in your hand. It's very quick. I like that they used the higher quality S30V steel over D2 and lesser steels for the blade. It came very sharp out of the box. Just OK
I just purchased this knife and I am a fan of Benchmade Knives and have several examples. This is my least favorite. It is probably the dullest Benchmade I have ever purchased. The finish is chalky and gets dirty rapidly. I bought this instead of a Microtech as this knife was cheaper by a few bucks. I wish I would have bought the Microtech.

I tried the Precipe along with the Infidel. The Precipe had a tad bit more blade wobble but as long as Benchmade will stand behind their product if something goes wrong it shouldn't be. a big problem.
Infidel handle is prettier and it has a better name. However, for 200.00 less I will take the discontinued Precipe and be happy.
4700 Precipice D/A OTF
Solid OTF knife. Conceals well. Handle texture is spot on. No slippage when tested on those horrible mean watermelon! Hand became very slick, then I tried it on a 4x4 piece of wood. Clips deep and solid in your pocket. Love the spear point single edge S30V blade. Will shave nose hairs. Thank you Blade HQ for the sale price. Benchmade does know what their doing, btw.
Ultratech Alternative?
This is a solid little spine-fire OTF, and the S30V is definitely nice. The action is extremely snappy and the trigger is nicely tuned, with a definite engagement point. However, at this price it's in direct competition with the famed Ultratech, so I guess it's really down to personal preference which one you'd rather have.
