It was made to be a tactical tool with the speed and agility of a knife, and the takedown power of a machete; perfect for use in close Combat situations in World War II. In the yeARS since, custom knife maker Chuck Gedraitis adapted the historic design into an EDC-friendly folder: the Pocket Smatchet. Fantastic!
Keep your fingers out of the drop. :) Usually not a fan of thumb discs for some reason they work on this one. Action is superb big ole blade rockets out and glides back just as easy. Boker made a great one.

I ordered and promptly received this model (with green micarta scales and black blade) and I really like this design. The knife is well made, with no run overs, machine marks, uneven edges or rough spots. Also, the blade is perfectly centered and is extended and stowed with the simple flipper action. The blade on my piece was razor-sharp out of the box. The ergonomics are perfect… read more for me ( I have XL hands) and I appreciate BOTH the length and width of this knife grip. Boker often comes out with some really cool designs, and at this point in my collection, I am just ordering folders with unique blade and/or grip designs, and this one qualifies. Well worth the price here!
