Razor sharp and well built

I am blown away by the quality, edge, and manufacture of this purportedly budget, low end entry level spyderco. It's sharp, reliable, and cheap; it's my go-to for situations where I don't have to baby a knife.

Spend $20 more and get a Tenacious

The construction is very solid and tight but I do not like this knife. I can't get used to the opening and the byrd hole. Locking mechanism is not nearly as nice as a slightly more expensive knife.

Spyderco-like quality in a budget blade

First, thanks, BladeHQ, for making it so easy to find and own great knives.

Obviously this is not the best blade steel out there, and it's not the lightest knife around. But it works and opens well, and I'm surprised at how much I like the stainless steel handle. I end up carrying it more often than I'd expect for a knife with 8Cr13MoV.

Awesome Knife!

I got the Cara Cara 2 as my first modern, non-traditional EDC knife, and I absolutely love it. For the price I think that it is a fantastic option. The G-10 feels nice, it is well constructed, it looks good, and the blade is extremely good at slicing. I think that I might be hooked on Byrd/Spyderco now!

Very Very Sharp

This is a very well manufactured Chinese folder. Decent steel that holds an edge very well. The flat ground edge came crazy sharp. I just wish it had a deep carry clip but regardless it is a great knife, and the price is ridiculously low for a Spyderco. I'll be buying the plain edge version soon.

Needed more oil

Knife arrived with an alright edge so I reprofiled it, also some surface rust on the gimping, they should've oiled it up more. Other than that, fantastic ergos, pretty good fit and finish on the parts for a +-30$ budget endura 4.

Great knife

Love the cara cara 2 i use it all the time at work and around the house, it has nice weight to it and just feels really good in the hand, the g-10 scales and the jimping on both the choil and top of the blade gives you a really good grip even if you have oil or something on your hands. The only problem I've had with this knife is the pocket clip keeps getting snagged on stuff and read more bending.

Byrd or spyderco?

Going from a spydie hole to a Byrd hole is difficult, the blade is not of the same steel you see from spyderco, the edge retention is fairly lame. For a beater knife; $27 Is fair!

Great Value Knife

This Knife for $20 is a great buy. It's large, yet lightweight. And the lock up is dead solid with no movement either way. The opening may be a little stiff out of the box but it should loosen over time. To get a fast deployment, I just used the age old trick of putting a zip tie inside the "bird's eye" to act similar to Emerson's wave feature. That inexpensive modification, I find read more to work really well. The blade centering is terrible, but imperfect blade centering almost never bothers me as long as it doesn't inhibit deployment of the blade. For the price point, that shouldn't really be much of a gripe to anybody.
