Great Slicer
Have had the Exarch for about a week now...have been carrying it every day. My first Civivi.
Great little knife. Very smooth in operation from the beginning. The blade is excellent - geometry and grind are exactly right to make for a superlative slicer. The blade steel (D2) seems to have been done up properly...no signs of chipping or brittleness.
The handle is nicely…

done. I love the simple, clean design and the G10 texture is nicely grippy. I hate clips, myself, so I removed this one (as with all my knives).
The flipping action is very smooth and the detent is just right. My only complaint (just a small one) is that the shape of the flipper tab could be a bit rounder and oriented such that an index finger could be used for opening. Nevertheless, I found a good way for one-handed opening with my thumb, so no matter.
Finally, I consider this knife a real bargain.
So, overall, I gave it 5 stars, despite the small flipper tab complaint. As I said, great little knife. Get one and see!
Great deal
My first front flipper, and it hasn't disappointed yet. Good sharpness out of the box, but not great when compared to other civivi knives I've purchased (rustic gent, and elementum button lock). That being said, the fit and finish are on par with knives twice the price. Great little knife for around town, but the blade shape, profile, and handle size don't lend themselves for extreme… read more hard use tasks.
Elegant simplicity....
This showed up today and it is exactly what I expected from Civivi. Fired easily the first time I tried. Very intuitive, great detent. The clip is a little big and you know it is there, but I won’t ding it as it isn’t a heavy use knife. Fidgety as heck. It is really sharp out of the box. If you’re getting it for office carry, it is the upper limit size-wise. I’m not sure… read more I’ll use it for that. I might’ve gone with the McKenna or the Feist, but this thing is cool.
My first Civivi; didn't disappoint
At first I was a little skeptical about Civivi being as good as everyone says it is, but buying this knife changed my opinion, bc it's really quite good. This is both my first Civivi and first front flipper, and both are quite worthy of praise.
I don't know what the problem is with the flipper; I was able to flick it out consistently within about 10 seconds of opening the…

box. Just look up "front flipper Blade HQ" on Youtube and watch a few of the vids and pay attention to how they deploy each knife; you'll find it's different than your usual deployment but much easier than expected.
Flipper works great for me!
This is an awesome little knife, and (for me) the front flipper works like a charm. I can operate it one-handed without an issue, and it snaps out perfectly.
It's slim design fits in any pocket, and it's very fidget-friendly. Awesome!
Beautiful knife with one major flaw!
I absolutely love the look and the feel of this knife - it is beautiful and looks awesome! I've also tried the CRKT CEO and this looks 100 times better!
However, the blade flipper at the end of the blade doesn't function well at all. The flipper is located at the end of the blade side, protruding a little past the knife. This is preferred as to sticking out the side, but…

you cannot reach it while holding the knife properly (like a finger flipper). you have to hold it awkwardly and use your thumb or finger to start opening it. Very clumsy and potentially dangerous. I also had a co-worker test the knife and he said the same exact thing.
Again, I absolutely love the look and feel of this knife, but had to return it due to a complete lack of function on the opener. If this was redesigned, I would purchase again in a heartbeat.
