Fallkniven Knives from Sweden began manufacturing Knives back in 1984. As fishermen and hunters for decades, they have used their knowledge to produce some of the most prized and beloved outdoor Survival Knives in the world. The F1 knife has proven to be an incredibly popular design, one that you only fully appreciated once you've experienced its superior design and craftsmanship.This Fallkniven F1 knife has a convex ground satin finished blade, made from a stainless steel laminated VG-10 core. The diamond textured Thermorun handle provides an ideal platform for safe and comfortable use, whether wet or dry. Tang protrudes at base slightly (less than 1/16"). This Fallkniven F1 comes with a tough double-safety, one hand operated zytel sheath with belt loop.

Another great version of a classic
I like the F1 design, always have. I also like the progression of steels that Fallkniven has offered, though Lam CoS is my favorite. Putting a DLC coating on just makes it better. I am not sure if the handle is an improvement, though. I worry that the edges will prove difficult with prolonged use. I look forward to seeing.

Amazing Knife
I had this knife a few years ago and lost it. It is a great knife and never had any issues with it in the past. I decided I wanted to get another one and went with DLT. I have ordered several knives from them and the customer service and shipping are outstanding. I also like the leather sheath. Next I would like to try the F1 in different steels. It's a really fun blade to use.

I purchased each of my boys one,my oldest one first.He is 22.He loves it.It w as for his birthday,which is in November.When my youngest one seen his mom wrapping it,he fell in l9ve with it.Hes 16..So I had to get him one for Christmas!!!
A Classic
Fallkniven makes a fine blade and the F1 is their bread and butter. Laminated VG10 is tough and holds a good edge. If you live in a humid or wet environment you'll love it. Sheath is no frills and lightweight, and doesn't abrade the edge like kydex does. One of the best all around knives you could purchase and DLT's service is superb!

Can't go wrong
I've owned just about every Fallkniven Model available and I always seem to go back to the F1. It's one of those knives that works for just about anything you need a knife for. I also need to mention that I've been buying from DLT for a while now and I always have a smooth transaction and get fast shipping.

I use this knife every day and love it. The blade geometry is great keeping the cutting edge thin while benefiting from the strength of a thick blade. Holds an edge very well and feels great in the hand. It seems a bit small when you first pick it up, but is surprisingly comfortable to use even for extended periods of time. I have this knife in 3G also and has proven a great woods/hunting… read more knife. Bought the VG-10 for a beat around and edc knife as it sharpens easier than the 3G if I chip it. Bottom line: this is a great knife being versatile, strong and comfortable.

I haven't had a chance to use my F13G yet. But if it's anything like the folder I use with the 3G blade, I know I'll be happy with it. As usual, DLT has excellent service!
Maybe best all around knife
Hardest knife to keep in my collection. I have four children who love the outdoors, and two of them have asked for their own F-1 for extended camping trips. Each time I replaced it with another one. Fortunately DLT standard shipping arrives in two days. I have used both versions of the F-1 (VG-10 and 3G) and this 3G version outperforms and keeps its razor sharp edge far longer.… read more It's small enough to be very light on your belt, but can do just about every camp job including light wood preparation, field dressing, and all cutting chores. It even makes an excellent small chef's knife for food preparation. Bigger knives may work better for bigger chores, but this one does every job well enough. If I was limited to one, this would be it.
Own the 3G version and gave this as a gift...
We gave this as a college graduation gift to an outdoor nephew who appreciates both function and form. Leather sheath also a hit. Good value and usual fast shipping from the DLT folks.
Love it
This is my best general purpose knife . It doesn't rattle in the sheath and it fits my large size hands just fine .I have other knives that preforms cretain jobs better,like my spyderco bushcraft cuts wood better.And my laser strike maybe better at survival type jobs ,but this knife will be the one I use the most,especially for hunting.

The Fallkniven F1 just plain works. Fits your hand and feels very secure. This knife feels very well balanced and the blade is the right length for EDC. The Zytel sheath fits the knife perfectly, with no rattle and very secure.

Solid
I have standardized on the F1 as my primary knife for both my go-bags, I think it is the most versatile knife that I use for hiking, fishing, and food prep. I have one of the old blanks and I made my own micarta handles pinned with titanium tubing, and one with the standard rubber handle. If those F1 blanks ever were available again I would buy more but in reality I must admit the… read more standard handle has better grip in most situations. It can easily be field sharpened quickly with only a piece of wet/dry 600 paper. I sold off my fancy crucible steels because I feel this laminate is tougher and less likely to fracture in a bad situation.
A Beaute
Great hand feel, grip and super sharp - much more of a slicing geometry than the S1. Very natural in the hand, nicely balanced. If I had to choose a single fixed blade, this would be it.
