About Spyderco Sage 5 Lightweight

Spyderco’s popular Sage Series is a distinctive family of Folding Knives that uses a single design theme to showCase influential lock designs and honor their inventors. Highlighting our own patented Compression Lock, the Sage 5 is so popular we decided to take it a step further by offering it in a lightweight format. Its injection-molded FRN scales have a Bi-Directional Texture pattern for a non-slip grip and are Home to nested, skeletonized stainless steel liners, a reversible deep-pocket wire clip, and a full-flat-ground CPM S30V blade. Weighing 13 percent less than the standard Sage 5, the Lightweight version also sports a special bushing that ensures precise pivot tensioning and an ultra-smooth action.

Great EDC knife.. Smooth and slick very sharp. Fun to fiddle with. Great for all the mundane tasks you need a sharp edge for and then some.

Big upgrade from Para 3 LW (IMO)

I’m a big fan of the Sage 5 lightweight. It’s not as light as the Para 3 lw but the ergos are a lot better and the blade is staying centered because of the pivot bushing, which also makes the action awesome. I’m much more of a fan of the leaf shaped blade as well. The main thing I like is the texture of the handles. It feels like the Frn Chaparral, very grippy! A lot better read more than the Para 3 lw. It’s also a thinner knife and not as tall in the pocket. I know that the price is higher but with my points from DLT I payed a little over $100. To me it is worth it. Action was perfect right out of the box and blade was scary sharp. Super fast shipping as well!!
