About TOPS Knives BOB

This MODel of the TOPS Knives Fieldcraft BOB fixed blade sports brown micarta scales with an urban camo blade and includes a Kydex sheath with firestarter set.The Fieldcraft Knife was designed by The Brothers of Bushcraft, a coalition of men across North America focusing on sharing wilderness living skills of all CATegories. From tracking, to building shelters, the Brothers of Bushcraft make it a point to show the skills to all people, of all ages, from all over. The knife is ten inches long in total, with a blade length of four and a half inches. This makes a compact, but extremely serviceable knife. The Fieldcraft's blade is 3/16" thick, and made of 1095 High Carbon steel. The cutting edge is a MODified Scandinavian Grind, which is very effective for carving, skinning and other general woods work. With a rockwell hardness of 56-58, the ease of sharpening is astounding. That is if you ever get to sharpen the blade. As the hardness and edge geometry work beautifully together to make a long lasting edge. The handle is one of the most Ergonomic ones on the market, sporting several useful additions. Although Knives with a lot of frills often end up lacking, the additional items found on the Fieldcraft knife were selected from experience and critiqued in every step of design, development and production. Being made of micarta, the handle will never let you down. The bow drill divot on the handle is frictionless and makes starting those primitive fires almost effortless. The "Thumb Scallops", formed on the hilt of the handle offer more comfort and control when using specialized carving and skinning grips. The pommel of the blade is simply the tang of the knife exposed enough to allow impact from a baton to not effect the handle (though the micarta is definitely tough enough to take such abuse). On the exposed pommel, you will find a scraper specially designed by one of The Brothers of Bushcraft, for striking Ferro rods in a safe and efficient manner.

A Great, Solid Knife

Andrew Pardy

I had been eyeing up this knife for some time and finally decided to buy it a few weeks ago. The fit and finish was quite good, with the construction of the knife being rather sturdy and solid. I’d be confident in taking this along during any trip in the wilderness.

Better than the higher priced knives.

I’ve had 4 BoBs so far. I keep giving mine away to everyone because they are so damn perfect. I think everyone needs one of these in their gear. 9 out of 10 times I reach for my BoB instead of my Bark Rivers.

I have a lot of knives but the vast majority are folders. I have a couple Ka Bars but my fixed blade selection is small. After eye balling Tops for several months I decided to get this Brothers of Bushcraft with brown canvas micarta handle and I literally love this. For an all around outdoors knife this BOB is perfectly designed to do it all. It's length to handle ratio fits and read more feels great in hand. It comes razor sharp, ready to do work. It's sheath has perfect retention and comes with an emergency whistle/ fire starter. I can go on and on. It really is perfect for anyone, young or old regardless of experience that's gonna spend some time in the woods. I need more Tops steel in my life!

First, DLT has the best customer service and shipping in the business. Not to mention their extremely talented photographer. I ordered my Tops b.o.b. tumble finish knife on a Tuesday, it shipped on Wednesday and I received it Thursday morning before 10 am, now that is fast. Love the knife, it feels really good in the hand, not to skinny just right, the modified scandy grind works read more great just what I was looking for. I have many high quality Bark River Knives and still use them daily, but this bob is great with the 1095 steel. I will definitely be put it through some tough tests this weekend. If you are looking for a blade with 1095 steel you need to check the Tops bob out

The BOB is a great knife. 154CM stainless steel is a well rounded performer. These are fully heat treated unlike the 1095 versions. On TOPS I prefer G10 over their micarta handles.

New Primary EDC

Although in New Jersey you cannot carry any type of fixed blade on you (unless on private property or hunting), this will be my new primary carry at all opportunities! I caught it on sale, I've been wanting a B.O.B. knife for awhile and to add greater impact to that, DLT engraves and did a phenomenal job on mine engraving my christian name, Benaiah. I had no idea they did this, read more I am a newer customer but with that engrave, they have won me over for good! There could be nothing less than 5 stars for this immaculate TOPS B.O.B. knife and thank you, thank you DLT!!

Field knife 4.0

This is a good knife but could be much better in my opinion.
I like the blade length and balance of the knife. The handle is great and the scandi grind cuts very well. The jimping is not necessary and too aggressive. The shango notch is almost useless, I would like to see it without the notch and a 90 degree edge.
