Need is a relative notion

I’m not going to claim to be a self-defense expert or even a wannabe & tell you about the virtues of this knife in that regard. I’m clueless about such things & will never carry this as a self defense tool. I got this because I’ve wanted one since I first saw it. I have no real use for it beyond having a cool way to open the mail.
The fit and finish are well done. read more The sheath works well & appears to be durable. The critical aspects of the steel being a dagger are symmetry and quality of the grind. In that regard I give this high marks. If my Socom Elite in M390 is any indication of the heat treat, this beast in that same steel should be fine. It’s plenty comfortable in-hand with plenty of grip for my use.
I’m going to stick to happily merely having bragging rights of ownership and a cool way to open my mail. I have zero input as regards ability to use for self defense.

Beautiful Blade.

This knife is awesome. It is probably not practical for anything but CQC - which I never intend to participate in - but still one of my favorite Microtech blades. I am going to pick up the non-DLC coated version, too.
