Which tools do I need each day?

Make a short list of tools you will use. The Classic SD supplies small tools including scissors and a nail file; the Spartan adds larger blades and openers; the Huntsman includes scissors and a wood saw. The full maker lists are in the table. A tool you do not need still takes space in your carry system.

How do the closed sizes compare?

Compare closed length, width and height together. The US source gives the Classic SD a shorter closed body than the Spartan and Huntsman. The latter two share listed length and width, but differ in height. These are rounded US maker dimensions, not measurements from our samples. Body length is not blade length.

Which model includes scissors or a saw?

The Classic SD and Huntsman include scissors; the Huntsman also has a wood saw. The Spartan’s listed tools include neither. Decide whether those tools justify the closed size for you. Tool presence is established by the maker list; cutting capability and ease of use are not.

Do these blades lock?

Victorinox lists all three blades as non-locking and not one-hand models. A tool count does not change that mechanism. Inspect the operation under the maker instructions before choosing. This page does not assess permission to carry in a particular place.

What if I need pliers?

None of these three tool lists includes pliers. If pliers are part of your daily task list, this shortlist does not meet that requirement. We have not compared a plier multi-tool here. Keep that need explicit instead of choosing a model because it has more other functions.

How we chose these

We used only red ABS/cellidor models with an exact feed listing and an opened Victorinox US source. Tool lists and dimensions were checked November 4, 2026. Alox, camouflage, printed colors and different tool sets are excluded. The table records the maker’s facts and the feed dates, without a carry or cutting award.
