It is BIG

On C.

You have no idea how big it really is until you open it yourself. Sure the measurements are known, but holding a ruler imagining its side does not even come close to the impression this knife gives.

In a defensive situation, this is the second scariest thing you can pull out beside a gun. In California, where CCWs are nearly unobtainable, but folding knives of any length read more are legal, having one of these in your pocket gives you a lot of sense of security.

Couple of "down points", quoted since they aren't a bad thing, just some things you might want to be aware of:
1. The lock is very very strong, it is the strongest liner lock I've ever seen. The lock isn't very thin either, so it is difficult to find a pushing point. The lock is textured but isn't particularly grippy, so I find myself having a very hard time closing it, at least with a brand new knife. My thumb hurts after a few closes.

2. It is heavy, relatively speaking. It's a slight bit longer than your phone, even bigger than the large phones. It is also slight bit heavier than your phone. So think about how it will behave in your pocket before buying. If you run a lot, it could be a bad idea to carry this around if your pocket isn't zippered.

The third and final point is, if you are gonna EDC it, and use it a lot for random things like cutting cardboard boxes, tape, etc. And if you want the Ti-Lite 6-inch look, you might want to look into the cheaper AUS8A version. While that one is inferior in materials, it will still get the job done and you won't feel as guilty abusing it.

Great Value

Pros: Good F&F, good action, great durability, and lock strength.
Neutral: Teflon washers? great action no problems so far.
Cons: Smooth aluminum scales may be slippery, great candidate for textured coating.

A beast of an experience!

I would like to thank the reviewer that recommended purchasing this version vs the cheaper one. Hard to find the words to describe this other than this thing is a serious beast! More of an experience than a knife. Another reviewer mentioned the clack sound when you flick it open sounds like a shotgun being cocked. That clack is so pleasing and the opening action is so smooth for read more a knife of this size/material. For its size, it still fits reasonably comfortable in front and back jeans pockets. It comes sharp out of the box and is made with tool steel. With a little effort sharpens to razor and keeps the edge. Very sturdy build! The only negatives I can see is the detente in the lock is quite stiff, and the blade centering is off after a few weeks of flicking it to where it lightly touches the inner wall upon closing. I should be able and realign the centering without much trouble. These are very minor negatives in light of such a blade.

Top Dog self defense EDC

Absolutely fantastic knife. Razor sharp out the box. Premium steel. Deploys fast and smooth which was pleasantly surprising for such a long blade. Nice loud click clack when deployed. Very intimidating. Not a camping knife unless you need it to take something or someone down. Super sturdy build. I tested out and you can really stab through a car hood with ease and not damage the read more blade. Pocket carry is good. Nice short secure clip. Not too heavy. This is the ultimate urban EDC. My idea of a gentleman folder not those thin glorified letter openers that cost three times the price of a Tri-Lite. Bravo Cold Steel and BHQ

Game Changer

This knife is not a toy. It is a game changer. In a fight or flight situation, the other party will seriously re-think their position after seeing this weapon deployed. I really can't see this as a EDC but if you're going into the badlands, this is the partner to have. The only thing that trumps this bad boy comes in .40 caliber. It does fit in my pocket as described and isn't all read more that noticeable but this thing is a colossal beast to be reckoned with!

(well, maybe one, though its more of a wish that i hope coldsteel fuffills one day.)

Very sharp. The sound of a good deployment is satisfyingly menacing. Like a break action shotgun. Surprisingly fit in most of my pockets. Aggressive jimping. Can be used as a kubaton while closed.
