It is BIG

On C.

You have no idea how big it really is until you open it yourself. Sure the measurements are known, but holding a ruler imagining its side does not even come close to the impression this knife gives.

In a defensive situation, this is the second scariest thing you can pull out beside a gun. In California, where CCWs are nearly unobtainable, but folding knives of any length read more are legal, having one of these in your pocket gives you a lot of sense of security.

Couple of "down points", quoted since they aren't a bad thing, just some things you might want to be aware of:
1. The lock is very very strong, it is the strongest liner lock I've ever seen. The lock isn't very thin either, so it is difficult to find a pushing point. The lock is textured but isn't particularly grippy, so I find myself having a very hard time closing it, at least with a brand new knife. My thumb hurts after a few closes.

2. It is heavy, relatively speaking. It's a slight bit longer than your phone, even bigger than the large phones. It is also slight bit heavier than your phone. So think about how it will behave in your pocket before buying. If you run a lot, it could be a bad idea to carry this around if your pocket isn't zippered.

The third and final point is, if you are gonna EDC it, and use it a lot for random things like cutting cardboard boxes, tape, etc. And if you want the Ti-Lite 6-inch look, you might want to look into the cheaper AUS8A version. While that one is inferior in materials, it will still get the job done and you won't feel as guilty abusing it.

The Intimidator of Knives!

This knife is a wicked, intimidating blade of ominous background! This is made to defend your life with! Once released though, it cannot be recovered until it has spilt blood. This knife calls to you in a way that no other does. It has an undeniable thirst for vengeance and justice. While I do not condone violence, if you ever need to defend your life, this is the blade you need! read more But, be careful! The fury that exudes from this firey blade of vengeance is almost uncontrollable!

Awesome Blade, But.....

This is an excellent well made blade. Comes sharpen and very clean...but, their description is wrong. The blade you will get is a Dark Earth Brown handle and not Black. The only reason why I did not give this review less than a 5 star because this blade because it is very well made.

CS Ti-Lite

Charles M.

I had put off &/or avoided this knife for the longest time, the aesthetics of the "Stiletto" style appealed or not over time to me personally, but is still an ageless (?) design (long, sleek and pointy sharp like a tooth or ice pick).
I have as long as I can remember liked and respected the Cold Steel name in the knife making industry, to see the owner of the company speak shows read more pride and passion for everything he endeavors. And so I recently saw a video for this product and the literal torture testing for it, which alone should be enough...
Seeing complaints like tight mechanisms and pocket clips go south if you've ever lost a knife (much less a good / expensive knife), or had something fall off or come apart. If you only ever bought a Cold Steel knife, you could pretty much bet it would last a lifetime.

Very nice Ti Lite

Alan s.

I love the quality of this knife. I already had the cheapest 6" version of this knife, with the 8A blade, and this is a nicer knife. The blade has a better edge and tip, although there was nothing wrong with the cheaper model. I guess because it's an upgraded model, though, this model has a 'detent' on the blade, where the cheap one didn't. Upside is that's it's better quality, read more downside is that you can't pick this model up and snap it open with a wrist flick, you have to open it with the thumb stud, which requires practice on a blade this size. As far as partially opening it, and then 'snapping it open', if you have ever had a sharp blade snap back on your fingers, you won't try it again, unless you're stupid. So, I am still happy with it, it really is much better quality, but if I had someone 'indicating' that I needed a knife really fast, like to pop a balloon, I would pick up the cheaper one.

Great Value

Pros: Good F&F, good action, great durability, and lock strength.
Neutral: Teflon washers? great action no problems so far.
Cons: Smooth aluminum scales may be slippery, great candidate for textured coating.

Wonderful knife

This is a fantastic knife, light weight, razor sharp right out of the box. The thumbstud works great for lightening fast deployment. I think some of the reviewers just need to practice a little more, it takes time to get good with thumb studs. You can also use the blade guard as a flipper, that does take practice and a little wrist flip action, but it works great once you get used read more to doing it. The liner lock is the most solid and sturdy I have ever seen on any knife. The only complaint I have is the same as with all other coldsteel knives, and that's the ridiculously tight pocket clip, however it is easy to remove and bend slightly, after which it works fine. This is a great knife for the price

Zombie Apocalypse 6" Stilleto

William M.

Alas, if only zombies had functioning vital organs, this knife would be perfect for zombie apocalypse self-defense in tv shows & movies. Since only removal of the zombie's entire head is effective, I recommend a broad bladed (leaf shaped?) blade like the Espada or Rajah if you expect Extreme Future Conditions; otherwise this Ti-Lite will suffice.

Until the zombie apocalypse, read more this Ti-Lite offers more value than the Espada and Rajah - it's currently less than $10 per inch of blade - and it is much slimmer and lighter.

In terms of quality, the handles are a combination of Zytel (or FRN?) over steel liners makes for an incredibly solid combination. The FRN has an almost imperceptible pebble texture. The single thumbstud with liner lock is easy to use despite the relatively large mass of the blade (compared to a 3", 3.25", 3.5" and 4.0" folder - also compared to other 6" folders, even the light Luzon, due to the narrow blade).

I like to carry this sometimes just for fun - to stand in awe of how compact and light it is in the pocket. It IS actually "pocketable"! I have yet to open cartons with it, however, since the blade length is offensive to public perception. It's truly "carry often, use seldom".

The one negative, as usual, is the tiny, ultratight, pocket clip. I prefer the large plastic clip on the Luzon. Ok. The sharp edges on the guards will probably take a toll on pockets.

Although this is definitely not your ordinary EDC/utility/carton opener, I wanted to get one out of fears it will be discontinued or - good grief no! - restricted. At under $60 current pricing with FRN scales, it is a steal.

A beast of an experience!

I would like to thank the reviewer that recommended purchasing this version vs the cheaper one. Hard to find the words to describe this other than this thing is a serious beast! More of an experience than a knife. Another reviewer mentioned the clack sound when you flick it open sounds like a shotgun being cocked. That clack is so pleasing and the opening action is so smooth for read more a knife of this size/material. For its size, it still fits reasonably comfortable in front and back jeans pockets. It comes sharp out of the box and is made with tool steel. With a little effort sharpens to razor and keeps the edge. Very sturdy build! The only negatives I can see is the detente in the lock is quite stiff, and the blade centering is off after a few weeks of flicking it to where it lightly touches the inner wall upon closing. I should be able and realign the centering without much trouble. These are very minor negatives in light of such a blade.

Long

Brian C.

This is a long knife. I seems larger than what I expected, but I like big knives, so it worked out well. I wish it were easier to open. I was fooled (my fault) by the photos of the open knife. I assumed it was a flipper, but it is not. I am disappointed about that, but I know it is my fault for not paying more attention. I only mention it to save someone else the same issue. Otherwise, read more this is a great overall knife if you like them big.

All around great knife.

I have no complaints on this Cold Steel Ti-Lite. It has a quick release from the pocket and is slick and slim a great EDC. The blade itself had great integrity, it holds its shape well.

Top Dog self defense EDC

Absolutely fantastic knife. Razor sharp out the box. Premium steel. Deploys fast and smooth which was pleasantly surprising for such a long blade. Nice loud click clack when deployed. Very intimidating. Not a camping knife unless you need it to take something or someone down. Super sturdy build. I tested out and you can really stab through a car hood with ease and not damage the read more blade. Pocket carry is good. Nice short secure clip. Not too heavy. This is the ultimate urban EDC. My idea of a gentleman folder not those thin glorified letter openers that cost three times the price of a Tri-Lite. Bravo Cold Steel and BHQ

Game Changer

Michael B.

This knife is not a toy. It is a game changer. In a fight or flight situation, the other party will seriously re-think their position after seeing this weapon deployed. I really can't see this as a EDC but if you're going into the badlands, this is the partner to have. The only thing that trumps this bad boy comes in .40 caliber. It does fit in my pocket as described and isn't all read more that noticeable but this thing is a colossal beast to be reckoned with!

everything about this crazy piece of hardware is incredible! no complaints about this thing at all!

(well, maybe one, though its more of a wish that i hope coldsteel fuffills one day.)

i just wish it was made in a lefthanded model to, then it would be truly perfect!!! other then that small nitpick, its flawless!!

It's fun but..

Tim D.

Super cool knife. Love that snap! But a little too big for EDC and ppl get nervous around it. The thumb studs are worthless, and the "wave" isn't the smoothest as well. Definitely a great tactical knife but not my choice for EDC.

Sharp!

Richard G.

This knife is a little wider than it looks in pictures. It would still feel nice in the pocket except the pocket snag is a little sharp and you definitely feel it when digging for items in your pocket. The thumb stud isn't the easiest to use to open up the knife; it needs a lot of force, but once overcome the blade flies open. Unfortunately, the liners can rust so you will need read more to take the knife apart and clean them before they pit.

The knife is a little plain looking so I stone washed the false top grind and mirrors polished the bottom grind. Because it's a stiletto blade it has excellent piercing capabilities, and is very sharp. I think I would have preferred the aluminum handles better.

Freaking loved it

Very sharp. The sound of a good deployment is satisfyingly menacing. Like a break action shotgun. Surprisingly fit in most of my pockets. Aggressive jimping. Can be used as a kubaton while closed.

Great knife but

Man this is a classy knife and can get some work done ( yes I was that guy working Walmart using a big stilleto to stock grocery and slay boxes lol, Because America and Kentucky ) but in all seriousness NOT really an edc but it can be pressed into that roll if need be, but really just a classy well built knife, some caveats tho, the grind on this knife was kinda skewed to one side, read more the sharpening choil was a little off and the blade centering has shifted to the right, the backspacer has some fit n finish problems as it's not flush with the aluminum handle scales......I'm not going going to bash it because it's still sharp as f*** the CTS-XHP steel is pretty decent and kept a good edge and I just like this knife tbh

Decent knife

Aaron R.

First off, if you want a ti-lite and money is an issue get the cheaper one it’s a decent knife, but if you have the money step up to the better models. These are cool knifes and one of my favorites no matter which one you choose.

Fun to carry..

But be careful who you open it around, it can scare some people. ;-)

Great knife

This knife locks up solid, comes sharp, and is very good quality. The liner lock takes a little getting use to since the knife is compact, but it's easy to do.

Inaccurately Listed!

The picture is not consistent to the knife I received! The handles do not look like the listing but of the cheaper model below this knife. RETURNED and very disappointed Bladehq could not resolve this issue for a monthly buyer

You Know You Want It

Greg E.

As a knife collector I love classic switchblades and I love big knives. It's hard to say no to this knife, especially at the price point. Not the world's most 'useful' knife, barring a zombie apocalypse, but it's awesome. The long handle, balance, and grip holes (?) make it a perfect choice for knife tricks if you get bored with balisongs. Did you see that it was AUS-8A? The zytel read more handles are plasticky and cheap feeling but they get the job done. This is my favorite knife for flicking open- the blade is enormous and heavy and it kicks into your hand with a very satisfying 'ka-chak'. Oh, and you can wave the knife, too. Rest assured the moment Rule of Law goes away this monster of a knife won't be leaving my right pocket except in emergencies.

It's fantastic. And Smoooooth!!!

John S.

I have owned many knives. This is my favorite! It's incredibly sharp!! So watch your fingers. It's got great scales, they provide excellent grip for wet, dry, or gloved hands. The action is smooth, and it has two distinct opening methods. The thumb stud, hardest to use (but still incredible). And the pocket snag (Emerson style), which works great.
