The Roadie was conceived to comply with the TSA's 2013 plan to allow qualified Knives on planes. Although the plan was withdrawn by the TSA, Spyderco is ready for the day when Knives and planes can coexist. Spyderco's Roadie is essentially an evolved version of a penknife for the MODern man. It has a practical sheepsfoot style blade with a trademarked Double Dent opener for fingernail-free two-handed opening. The gray handle is contoured fiberglass-reinforced nylon with a notched-joint mechanism. An index-finger choil on the blade aids to prevent accidental closure and facilitates Precision cuts. Available in a handful of different colors, the Spyderco Roadie is a friendly, high-utility knife for the MODern age!

So glad to have finally bought my replacement Roadie. I lost my first at a concert in an attempt to hide/ditch prior to entry, which failed, as some lucky person found and kept it. knife on the market. And with its well-placed 'dimples' - a superb design - provide a natural deployment. Its Böhler N690Co blade comes razor-sharp out of the box and is easy to maintain as well. The jimping above and below (blade and finger choil respectively) give a solid purchase, and the half stop provides a safety feature many other slip joints, miss. It behaves and works much larger than it appears. You'll end up using it more often than you'd think because of that.
I'd give a sixth star if it were an option.
Most underrated knife of all time
this is all the knife that most people need. It disappears in a pocket or purse. the finger choil makes it easy to use and secure in the hand. I would recommend this knife to anyone. Great option for new knife users.
Great but 1 problem
This is an amazing small knife. The combination of the finger choil and it being a slip joint is genius. The finger choil gets rid of all insecurities while using the knife, not to mention that it is also ergonomic despite it's small size. My only issue is it have really sharp edges, mainly the spine of the knife. I actually cut myself on the spine before the cutting edge. But this… read more is fixable with some low grit sandpaper or a sharpening stone. Overall this is my new favorite slip joint knife. If you want a slip joint knife, look no farther.
Great little EDC knife
Basically disappears in my pocket and it's definitely not a scary knife so I don't have to worry about pulling it out in public
Chill
I teach an integrated outdoor ed class. When not in the mountains, my bush blade is a bit much to haul out for classroom tasks. This little number would be perfect.
My Sunday Carry
This is what I carry when I'm wearing slacks and such that won't accommodate a pocket clip. It's a fun blade with tons of cutting power. Sharpens up nicely too.
