Wow. Smooth as butter

I had another OTF, but the activator switch was hard to push and very aggressive. I guess some like that; not me. The GT Recon 035 I got is ultra smooth and sure firing. It's well built and feels like superb quality in hand. Highly recommend it.

I own many otfs and Use them at work, my recon has worked flawlessly. I love my microtechs and benchmades but all have malfunctioned in one way or another. The recon is going strong. My only complaint is the grinds at the base of the blade are sloppy but not a game changer. Will buy more.

Wow! Quality, Quality, Quality

Look out Benchmade & Microtech. Guardian Tactical is in the house. If you want an awesome DA OTF then buy this knife. The Recon is just as the BladeHQ video says, smooth action of a Benchmade with the snap of a Microtech. I am very pleased with Guardian Tactical's Recon (Black, Satin) DA OTF knife. If you are even thinking about buying this knife, just do it, you won't regret it.

Sent it back...

I had HIGH hopes for this blade, given that it's made in america and was my first OTF that didn't have a lighter in it... Well... It started misfiring after less than a week of regular use, I.E., cutting cardboard at work...

Once again, we have another company marketing something toward military and law enforcement that turns out to be a toy... I can't recommend it. My 30$ read more lightning is still going strong, and I once batoned a piece of aluminum in half with it (please don't try that)...

Anyway... Save up and get a benchmade/michrotech/or a hogue if you want an OTF...

My first good OTF

After seeing Microtech knives on youtube videos with their spring echo sounds after deployment, I was hesitant to buy at their prices. I saw this American made knife with great reviews and amazing looks... I HAD to buy one. This thing is amazing. I love the feel, and the action. It doesn't have a spring sound at all (yet? we'll see with age). It's fast and satisfying. The lines read more are sexy. The edge was not sharp out of the box, but it will open boxes and light work. This steel is a medium hardness with medium rust resistance. It's a great steel for everyday use. If you want to get a "Knife Guy" a knife as a gift without breaking the bank... You will NOT go wrong with this knife. Or just buy it because it's a sexy AF knife... Do it!

Not bad

Cool little knife, just about the right size for this type of knife in my opinion. Smooth and snappy action, quality fit and finish. I was pretty disappointed in the blade itself though. It was super dull out of the box, sharpened it on my edge pro and to match the factory bevel I had to sharpen it at 25 per side, Ideally I like to keep mine around 20, so I'll probably reprofile read more it eventually. Not a biggie, if anything it should be a pretty rugged and durable edge.

Better then Microtech

I have 5 Microtech OTF knives, Troodon, Scarab, Ultratech, UT-X85, UT-X70.

I can say without hesitation this knife is better then all of them.

The action is FAR superior.
Perhaps due to tight tolerances, each of the Microtech's will eventually bind when trying to deploy or retract, even the Ultratech model.

This knife has not bound up yet.

My read more only suggestion is to avoid the black coating on the blade....get the stonewash instead.
The black coating on my knife is somewhat soft and fragile.
But that is my fault, I couldn't wait for the stonewash to come back into stock. :-)

The cutting edge was somewhere around 35deg and somewhat uneven when it arrived.
It was sharp. But not scalpel, mirror polished, sharp.
After an evening on the Lansky Diamond stones, it is 30deg and scary sharp.

Don't hesitate
Buy it.

Mine came sharp, moves like butter. Smooth action in and out. Fantastic blade that is now my EDC.
