Have had a Native 5 in G10 & S90V for a few years and use it extensively. The sturdiness has impressed me as has the steel. Was never interested in a FRN version of such a thin knife after having handled the Benchmade Bugout, Delicas & other knives that feel flimsy to me. Recently got an older original Native with FRN’s and was pleased by the solid feel of it which led to this read more purchase. I was not disappointed. No flex on the handles and this was one of the sharpest factory edges I’ve gotten on any production knife. Don’t know why most manufacturers except Hogue can’t get this right. Nothing makes a better 1st impression better than a quality edge.
No evaluation of the steel since I just got it but if it’s on par with S30 or S35VN as most writeups claim I’ll be happy.
