Fantastic American made knife
I just received my blacked out PM2 and it is amazing. Great build quality, sharp blade, and legendary compression lock. This run even came with blacked out liners and compression lock which really cleans up the lines of the knife. Weight for this size of a knife is very good as well. Pocket clip is a piece of junk
First off, this is a super amazing knife. It carries very well, and stay very sharp for a long time. The pocket clip is rubbish, I broke two within the first year. I eventually got a Lynch clip and it has worked really well so I highly recommend that if you buy this knife you buy an off brand clip like a Lynch clip.

This is an excellent tool for the job. Spyderco has always hit it out of the ballpark when it comes to designing knives for personal use. The Paramilitary 2 is the Goldilocks of knives, not too big, not too small. Just the right combination of everything. I highly recommend this knife.

What can I say? This probably one the most favorited EDC knives ever made. It certainly is mine. Fit and finish is top notch, everything fits together in perfect precision. The Spyderco compression lock is my favorite part, similar to a liner lock, but its on the top and locks into a large notch on the blade. Feels much sturdier than a typical liner lock. Great Ergos and Fit and Finish
This is my second Spyderco. I had the Native 5 LW about a year before I pulled the trigger on the PM2. Very impressed with fit and finish on the PM2 as was I on the Native5. I feel like I like the PM2 more and more the more I carry it.

A replacement to my Benchmade 750.
Unfortunately, I lost my Benchmade 750 that I have owned for 20 years. Bought this Para 2 as a replacement, nice knife and about the same size and weight. I like the compression lock and overall, the knife feels solid. Let's see if I can get 20+ years out of this knife and not lose it this time.

So this knife is great overall but I did have the tip break off. The only thing is I wasent actually abusing it like every one else who knocks the tip off a blade. how the handle is so big compared to the blade, but I think this gives me the grip options. Get one. After a few years of denying I needed one, I recently decided to get a PM3 as well. Some places I visit have a 3” blade restriction and I want to comply and pm3 is 3”.
I hope to upgrade my scales sometime in the future and get some better steel.

I bought this knife because of all the hype around it and its a great knife. There is nothing I'd be afraid to do with this knife, it's built to go to work. It's got great ergonomics and a slicey blade.

I bought this knife a few months back, and it has since been my go to EDC knife. I have put this thing through some hard use, and the blade is still out of the box sharp. The liner lock is one of the best lock options on the market. If I could only keep one knife from my collection, I would keep the PM2.

a sharpening, and with a little cleaning and maintenance; looks brand new. Well it’s time for a new knife only because well, I want one. I was so impressed with the Tenacious that I knew it would be a Spyderco. Three quick side notes, I’m a martial arts instructor which incorporates edge weapons, I make knives weekly as a hobby, I live in the woods and do lots of outdoors things. So with that being said, I love knives and use them often for lots of things. I have always wanted a Paramilitary 2. I finally decided to get one. I don’t know what else can be said. The blade is incredibly sharp and the S30V is just amazing. The handles feel so good in the hand, it’s slim in the pocket, it flies open to a crisp lock. The compression lock is such a nice lockup and very convenient for use. I mean I can go on for days, just get this knife. It’s the ideal EDC and “tacticool” tool. It’s going to be hard to switch this out of my pocket...

with abuse, especially the non dlc models. Just wipe with oil every week or 2, be sure its food grade if you use it with your dinner!
The lock is excelent, I love that it can be closed without having my fingers in the path of the blade.
The clip is the typical spyderco, not much to write about but looks good.
If you've never owned one, give it a go. You wont be disappointed, and If it's not quite perfect for you, they do hold resale value on the knife trade fb pages.

This isn't the most aesthetically pleasing knife, but from a practical standpoint it is perfect.
I'm a first responder, so I use this knife frequently for cutting airbags, clothing, zip ties, car parts, etc...
The S30V is heat treated exceptionally well and is a breeze to sharpen. The DLC coating helps with corrosion resistance, and the G10 is decently grippy.

A Knife for the Stage Hand
I worked in the Live Music Industry for 8 years. This knife was the toughest thing in my pocket. It cut through anything I put I front of it! Paracord, excessive gaff tape, cardboard, planstic, you name it and it was in 2 pieces!
As long as you keep the edge this knife will last forever.

and g10 to grip on to when cutting. With or without using the forward choil the knife is easy to hold comfortably. The blade is simple in my opinion, just a long curved edge that leads to a needle point. Steel isn't super fancy for the base S30v steel compared to what you can get these days.
S30v is still a great user steel, and with practice is pretty easy to sharpen with the right tools and technique. Also and if you have issues with finger mobility a thumbhole is helpful. I don't personally but my father does and he loves his sage 5. Speaking of which the compression lock is a cool lock which is strong enough to do what you want with a folding knife within limits. Sometimes I find where the compression lock cutout in the scale is, that it is a bit of a ergononic hotspot. The stock pocket clip is placed well enough for me at least where only the tail of the knife sticks out a bit.
So overall I would say if you're interested in a paramilitary 2 any variation is a good choice but I would recommend getting it in hand before purchasing if possible. I love mine, you might not since everyone is different. Also I purchased mine from bladehq so I'm a bit biased, but if you ask they'll check your knife beforehand and send you a good product. They'll take care of you.
Favorite of my collection
Picked one up a couple months ago and it quickly became my go to daily carry. The G-10 feels so good in the hand, and the black on black is just sick.

PM2 was my first
This is a great knife. I own several PM2s including this all black (tactical) model. The Spyderco DLC coating is very durable and most general use scuffs will wipe off. The compresssion lock is fun and safe to use. This is an amazing knife, buy it!

The pm2 is such an outstanding knife!! So comfortable for edc and doesn't take up much room due to its fairly small profile. I carried so many knives till I found my pm2 and love it. It's gotten me hooked on spyderco and I can't stop carrying them!!
The reason I am addicted to Spyderco
Smooth action, great feel. This was my first sypderco. I feel comfortable when I have this in my pocket. My only gripe is that I wish I would have waited for the para 3 as my hands are a bit on the smaller side and I feel this blade is ever so slightly on the long side for me.

This knife has to be one of, if not THE BEST, EDC knives out. The flat grind, ergonomics, and flat out usability of it makes cutting tasks seem minuscule.

I had dreamed of buying this knife for years but didn't have the money so I suffered with the cheap Walmart knife. I originally… read more purchased this life and thought how would I ever be able to be okay using such a beautiful knife and putting where and tear but it quickly becomes obvious that this knife was to good to keep clean and safe, I use this knife every day for food, boxes, concrete work, cutting plants and so much more. I sharpen this knife on my own and I am by no means a pro or anywhere close to it but with a little work I can get a good edge on this knife that lasts a long time with a good amount of use. Anyways if your considering a Spyderco PM2 I would say DO IT!! stop thinking about it and just do it you won't regret it.
Best knife I’ve ever carried
I’ve had a lot of really good knives through out the years from CRKT to benchmade and Zero Tolerance, I got this knife and it was my first Spyderco and it is now my favorite knife! Best knife I’ve ever carried and I just customized it with a flytanium carbon fiber handle. Now I love it even more! I recommend it to anyone

When I got my first Para 2 I already owned several ZT's and other knives, but the Para 2 kicked them all out of my pocket and became one of my most carried knives if not my most carried. Amazing EDC knife
This is my second knife to be carried in my pocket and i absolutely love it!
The blade itself to me is a pretty big deal i prefer other shapes on mine but this blade is indeed a nice blade, the handle fits my hand perfectly and it feels very good to grab on.

As strange as it sounds, for a while I didn't give Spyderco much thought (I just didn't think they looked great). However, the first time I handled a Paramilitary 2 completely changed my mind! This PM 2 has been my almost daily carry for over 2 years now. The ergonomics are fantastic and I love how easy it is to open and close with one hand.

One of my friends had the paramilitary 2. He said it was the best knife he ever had but sold it so he could get one that he "liked better". Still says it was one of his favorites.

and I was having serious Spydie withdrawals. I had a taste and I needed more. I needed a juicy blacked out Para 2 with S30V steel and super sexy G10 scales (that feel so good and grippy when you hold it.) The ergonomics are phenominal for my beefy hands. Some people complain that it’s too big for EDC but the thing is so lightweight for its size that I just don’t feel it on me until I need it.
The compression lock is great. The action is crisp, clean, smooth, and addicting to fiddle with.
If you’re coming back to this page as much as I was let me tell you: You want this, you need this, treat yo self. I know the knife says it’s made on Earth but seriously it’s out of this world.

Awesome edc knife.
Pros: lightweight, strong lock, nice ergonomics, awesome fit & finish, nice blade steel, Full flat blade: awesome slicer.
Cons: Very thin at the tip, you need to be careful to not snap your tip off.

I’ve had this knife for a few years know and out of all the blades I’ve got I carry this one the most. It’s so light and slim yet sturdy and solid. The blade retains an edge super well and the ergonomics are awesome! Highly recommend! Well worth the price!
Groundbreaking design with a stealthy look.
The very modern looking Paramilitary 2 has become something of an old standard in the folding knife world. It's a great knife all around and there is little that I could add to what's already been said.
Spyderco's DLC finish is as tough as they come and this is one stealthy looking PM2.

Perfect size
The only reason I didn’t give it the 5th star is because I got a good size bur the first time I cut a box with it. Might have been me but it was definitely dull after that. But besides that it’s one of my favorite knives I own.

Beautiful Knife
Beautiful blade shape and awesome black color. The compression lock takes some getting used to but its way better than any liner or frame lock once you do. If you have yet to own a spyderco or knife with similar opening style than you might have some difficulties at first but like the compression lock you quickly get over it. The knife does its job and it does it well.
Low Profile EDC Blade
This is a great edc knife, incredibly sharp. Deceivingly lightweight given the size. The blade can double in a tactical or self defense application if necessary. Enlarged spidey-hole for easy flipping. Action is good, blade centering was slightly off (maybe 10% out of whack), which was fixable, but did require a slight tightening of the pivot. Smooth opening smooth lines.... Ergonomical and simple. If you want a PM2 get one!.. you won't be disappointed. Easy to sharpen holds a great edge.
Excellent low visibility carry
Flat black scales, blade and clip. Smooth action opening and closing. Super solid lock up. Blade shape makes it great for piercing and the full flat grind great for slicing.
