No point in me telling you what you already know—the experience of this knife is flawless, and not much more can be said. Simple and ultra-comfortable design, perfect size and blade-handle ratio, perfect machining and tolerances, perfect lock, perfect steel.

Even Bugout has its issues, like squishy scales and omega springs being a point of failure—but PM2 is built to read more never fail to deliver, and it doesn't. Stop scrolling and get it.

Loved my black handled one so much, I got the blurple one for my girlfriend. She loves it, and is now a force to be reckoned with.

Love it!

Love the color and the blade. Size is a little big for me, but I knew that going into it. Only thing I don't like is the carry clip but I bought a Lynch deep carry clip and it's perfect. Would highly recommend.

I have quite a few knives and just had to order the Spyderco Paramilitary 2. I love everything about this knife except maybe the looks. The compression lock works great and the blade is so sharp. I have already cut myself a couple times which is definitely operator error.

My favorite EDC

Pat c.

The compression lock always engages and gives this knife a secure feel. No automatic springs to worry about or flimsy liner locks that can buckle. Just a well designed knife with excellent steel and a dependable performance. I just upgraded mine with new scales from BHQ.

Pretty little workhorse

beautiful knife that was perfectly tuned and shaving sharp out of the box. The 110v has held an edge noticeably sharper and longer than my other 30v and 35v knives. the scales are grippy as all hell and are large enough that i can get a full grip with room to spare. All around a great knife and a pretty little beater

This is round two.

My nephew was home for the holidays, and found this gem in my collection. I sent it home with him and immediately ordered a replacement. Absolutely beautiful knife. Happy New Years!

The Top EDC Bar None

I have several EDC knives of different makes depending on what I'm doing, where I'm going and how I’m dressed. My main go-to and the jewel in my collection is the Spyderco Paramilitary 2 in S110V steel. Spydies have been a bit of an acquired taste for me but they're addictive. Yes, they take up a lot of real estate in your pocket and make digging for keys difficult. Yes, some read more are a bit heavy. Yes, they’re not pretty, but like an ugly dog you come to love them. And yes, opening with the Spydie hole and closing with a compression lock requires some practice. You get over all these things.

So far I’ve discovered several ways to open my PM2 one-handed--the plain thumb push, thumb/index pinch, thumb flick, index finger flick, middle finger flick and the swing open/wrist flick with the lock depressed. You'll find yourself fidgeting with the knife for hours perfecting these techniques. Once you've mastered them, you won't want to go back to other opening and locking mechanisms. The Spydie hole beats thumb studs hands down for easy opening. I also prefer it to flippers. With the clip positioned for tip-up carry the knife comes out of my pocket with my finger right over the hole to flick open. The compression lock is just as strong (or nearly as strong) as a back lock, axis lock, liner lock or ball-bearing lock and has the advantage of easy operation with one hand. My PM2 is faster, more positive and easier to deploy than my axis-lock Benchmade 940 or even my Kershaw Blur assisted opener, a liner lock that's basically a switchblade. The only knife that beats it is my Endura 4 with the Emerson Wave opener, but the Endura's lockback makes closing much more clumsy than the compression lock. All that said, the Spydie hole/compression lock combination beats any other action I'm aware of (a Spydie hole/axis lock would be worth looking at but the only one I'm aware of is the BM Griptilian which has a tacky feel. The Spyderco Manix 2 is good but quite hard to operate). Learning to love a Spyderco requires some practice and muscle memory but it’s worth it.

The ergonomics of the PM2 are second to none...my Benchmade 940, an excellent knife, seems wimpy in comparison. It fills your hand with a positive, controllable grip. The G-10 scales provide just the right amount of hold. The jimping on the thumb rise and finger choil allow you to choke up on the knife for finer control and cutting pressure. The wide flat profile of the blade is much better at slicing and dicing than slimmer blades. The fine, sharp tip of the blade is great for delicate cutting tasks. The blade has a 20-degree grind and can be made very sharp. S110V steel has edge retention that's second to none...the downsides are that it's rather brittle and very hard to sharpen. The brittleness isn't likely to be a problem unless you abuse the knife by prying or coming in contact with metal, and if your knife does become dull Spyderco will sharpen it for free--you just have to pay a $5 shipping charge. If the blade just requires a touch-up (mine did out of the box) I managed to bring it back to shaving-sharp with Sharpmaker fine stones and a leather strop. I also had to loosen the pivot screws just a smidge to get the blade to swing freely.

So there. This is IMO the best knife in the world for everyday carry and if I only owned one knife or was stranded on Gilligan’s Island, this would be it. I don't know how you could engineer a knife any better than this. It's a joy to own and well worth the money, you get a feeling of satisfaction every time you look at it or pull it from your pocket.

Converted Spyderco fan.

I will admit that I have always passed on Spyderco just based upon that ugly hump and hole. I decided to finally try one based off of all of the positive reviews. Man, dies this knife feel great! For me, it feels amazing in the hand. I love how it deploys and I also like the lock. Time will tell if I like this steel.

A true gem

Joe A.

Absolutely love this knife. I'm not a big spyderco fan but this knife is great. It is super fun to play with and holds its edge for a really long time. It is a sturdy knife for what it is but is not a hard use knife. The point is fairly delicate.

Re: Blade HQ video review: “backwoodsie, pine... brown

Robert W.

Hmm. The handle is probably a shade of brown since much of our military and military-related equipment is now painted, PVD, anodized in colors that help our personnel in harms way avoid detection by blending into the local environment. Hence the popularity of Coyote Brown — which on video seems a bit lighter than the above color.

Side note: sometimes it’s function not read more fashion that guides our choices in gear

First PM2

This is my first PM2. I typically roll Osborne 940 and this is the other “god” of edc. There’s good reason for that. Blade shape is so much good belly. Love the grind. This is a great edc knife! The compression lock is a blast as well as giving this baby the ol spider flick. The blade steel? Speaks for itself. I don’t know when I’ll sharpen this thing but I haven’t had read more to yet.

There are no words that I could write that can explain how wonderful this knife is. I have carried it every single day. In regards to worries about sharpening: I have not had too much trouble with a coarse diamond working my way up in grit on the Sharpmaker.

I highly recommend this knife. I open and close it approximately 1000 times per day. You'll figure out why when you read more get yours.

Already loved the PM2, but this one got me collecting, because S110V is awesome. best overall steel I have used for the money so far. They say it is hard to sharpen, but doesn't seem any stranger then other I have had to sharpen so no issue for me. Loved this one so much a bought a second one.

Just the Beginning!

Peter M.

Everything about this knife is amazing, except the scales. I purchased third party scales to replace the almost linen like textured scales this knife came with.

The edge is perfect, it's comfortable in hand, it's big but not obtrusive or unwieldy. I have used another Spyderco that is a little smaller than the Paramilitary 2 for years (discontinued) and this was an easy transition.

All read more in all, an excellent knife, but watch out because a little customization can make these things crazy cool, comfortable, and fun to handle.

Amazing!

Jared T.

If you don’t have a PM 2 yet I highly recommend this one! I love the scales and the steel is amazing. It can be a little difficult to get back to “hair popping” sharp but it holds it’s working edge forever. Very happy with this knife.

Outstanding

This was my first Paramilitary 2 purchase and I am in love. The knife came very sharp out of the box and the action is the best I have received on any spyderco yet. The blurple color is also very nice.

I love this knife

At first there was a bit of lock stick but it went away in a couple days now it’s very smooth I love the g10 perfect traction while not being annoying great jimping not to harsh my only complaint with this knife is the clip is a bit to shallow for me but I could always get a casey linch deep carry clip

My blue Para 2 is still my EDC knife after two years of use. I bought the knife before I began a through hike of the Appalachian Trail in 2017. I carried the knife throughout 6 months of hiking over 2200 miles. It was used literally every day and it always performed when I needed it to. I like the size and weight and the clip holds it securely in my pocket. The steel used for the read more blade has excellent edge retention. I've looked at several other knives and even bought a few since I got the Para 2. I always go back to this knife, I've not found another that's as good!

I am very impressed with this knife. I have many knives in my collection and my edc differs depending on how I feel. I have a regular knife and I have a work knife that is carried all the time. I use my work knife only at work because I am a diesel mechanic/welder and I don’t want to get my nice knife all greasy and oily. I have had the paramilitary 2 in s110v for a little while read more now and it has become my all the time, work/play knife. I love it and it holds an edge like no other. I am very happy with it. And you will be too! Buy it
Update:
I have been carrying this knife everyday for about 8 months now and it has never failed me! I put it threw it’s paces everyday and it cuts everything I throw at it. It holds an edge like a champ. It is very hard to sharpen but I use landskey diamond homes and I have a lot of patience. But when you get the edge sharp, holy cow it will hold it for a long time. I am super satisfied with this knife and I think you will be too

Great knife both in steel and color!
Truth be told I was a bit reluctant after reading some reviews of chipping, but I think it may have been due to some isolated incidents of people trying to sharpen this steel using stones that are of less Rockwell hardness than s110v.
I haven't tried sharpening this knife yet, however I am aware it will take diamond stones to cleanly cut read more the carbides in this steel.
As to the color mine looks almost navy in indoor light and a bit brighter in full sun.
I love purple and don't really care if people think it's a "feminine" color.
I wish it was more purple!
Like seriously!!
I wish it was as purple as all the haters say.
To me it looks navy most of the time, with bright light being necessary to really make it look "blurple."
Update to original review.
I originally bought a dmt diamond stone in fine grit and although it will sharpen this blade, I've found coarse diamond to better at creating the toothy edge I'm after.
It's like a micro sawblade now and is almost scary sharp.
Anyone after a smooth shiny edge may find a problem with sharpness as it is my "opinion" that this steel doesn't want that polished smooth edge.
Think alligator teeth!

I carry a lot of knives and I have a lot of very expensive knives in my collection this paramilitary Kix knives that are three times as expensive out of my pocket all of the time. It has tremendous ability to slice through anything and stay sharp an insane amount of time. Sharpening it is a bit of a hassle but what do you expect with this Steel. 100% worth the buy

This, still, is one of my very favorite Paramilitary 2's. I say "one of" because I have a collection of 17 different PM2's, and this one remains one of my 5-star Para's. There is just something about this knife's fit & finish that was perfectly executed. The steel used on this knife has loads of Niobium and Vanadium, making it extremely wear resistant. The crazy thing is that it read more also resist corrosion like crazy. Don't waste your time debating whether you should buy this knife. If you don't have this PM2, you don't like the PM2. Just saying...

It’s Pretty Nifty!

The knife is great, but you already know that from the other comments. What you don’t know is that dolphins are the only animal that sleep with one eye open. Also if you have the money and are still reading this then buy the knife, it’s worth it.

My favorite knife

Ben S.

I have had this knife for about a year now. I am a knife sharpener so I took this on as more of a chance to get my hands on s110v then a paramilitary.
I wasn't blown away with the model
I wasn't awestruck by the ergonomics.
Yet, out of my ZT's, my kershaws, my other spyderco's, and my customs, this is my favorite knife. This is the knife I have bonded with the most. And read more if you want an easy sharpening, don't get this knife. But if you want a knife that CAN be sharpened... still don't get this knife. But if you want a great knife, (most say to be the best) in an even crazier steel. Get this knife...

And some diamond stones,
and a poly diamond strop...
or maybe know someone to send it too:
Jef Jewel (chance it could be free)
Michael Emler (best customer service)
The Apostle P (most experience/long wait time)
Spadeknifeworks (probably the nicest edge)
Ben Spaloss: [email protected] (that's me)
and of course
The Spyderco factory.

There are many more people out there who can get the job done, but one thing never, EVER to do is use a pull through sharpener or send your knife to someone you don't know to be qualified. ON ANY KNIFE. not just a pm 2.

BUY THIS KNIFE! It has nearly 100 Five star reviews. Buy a Blurple PM2 have it sharpened professionally every year if you can’t sharpen it yourself. It’ll cut over a mile of cardboard, and still slice clean paper! Crazy long edge retention!

The fit and finish of this knife is impeccable! The blade is scary sharp even after a week of use. The S110V steel is the best.

This read more PM2 S110V Blurple is my 2nd Spyderco, my 1st USA made Spyderco. I love this knife, QUALITY IS REDICULOUSLY GOOD, very Tight fitting blade with NO play, NO wobble, that falls free right out of the box!!! I do constant cutting with it at work and I use my Tenacious too. And while I sharpen my Tenacious every night when I get home, I do not sharpen my PM2 S110V Blurple. It’s just incredible how sharp this S110V is! The blade is also very resistant to any scratches, I’ve got about 7 days hard use on mine roughly 10 hours per day it still SUPER shaves, and not a single nic, or scratch anywhere! It’s just like brand new. I’m not beating my knife up, but still; My Tenacious blade scratched all up in my pocket the first minute of owning it lol “Soft metal”
. I bought this PM2 S110V Blurple from BladeHQ! And service was great, shipping was quick I ordered late Tuesday evening, and had it in my hands Saturday by USPS. I paid the additional $2.99 shipping up charge. I love this knife, and I’m considering other models in this same SUPER steel! I would recommend buying a WickedEdge WE50/GO model for sharpening with Diamond stones.. I’m ordering one ^ my self to maintain this knife with ease!

This is one of the most recognizable and best models spyderco produces!
It is also one of the knives that can be both a very good user knife and can be a vluable collection piece if you get a rare "sprint run", talking about sprint runs and the s110v models apart, they offer that same great pm2 in a better steel that will suit your needs better, lieve in humid climate yet need read more long edge retention? get the s110v.
Maybe you want it to be your "harder"* use knife and prefer to take a care for it while not being afraid to chip a piece from the edge? Jump on one of those M4 sprints if you get to see one for sale ;)

*The hard cutting/chopping tasts are NOT the best way to describe any kind of use recommended for a folding knife! PLEASE KEEP YOUR SPECIAL PM2 IN ONE PIECE, or at least in as many as there where when it came out of the factory.

This was my first pm2 and I'm hooked. Now I have the s35vn. And the para 3 in both s35vn and 4v. The compression lock is addictively smooth/fast. The s110v is a good steel however if you are just getting into sharpening your own knives, I'd start with the base s30v.

Always looked at spydercos sideways and wondered why people were so crazy about them. The delica and endura everyone rants about always seemed so ugly to me as well as cheep looking. So when I got The PM2 my expectations were very Low. I was SO WRONG its incredable! The deployment methods alone are so fun and the extra large hole makes it beyond easy to deploy. The blade is so useful read more in nearly every task. It Feels great in the hand and the compression lock is awesome as well I cant go back to a liner. Finally this s110v steel seems to hold an edge for eternity!

Like all PM2's this is very comfortable knife for everyday use. One handed operation is beyond easy with the hole for opening and the compression lock for closing without putting your finger in the blade path. The ergonomics are great, there's no hot spots, the texture of the g10 provides good grip, and the jimping is in just the right spot when choking up on the blade. At first read more I was a little hesitant about the blurple color, but it's grown on me. Last but not least the s110v is a top notch performer.

I purchased mine almost 1 year ago and carry it everyday. I work in foodservice so the most action it sees is box cutting, lemon cutting, and occasional rope cutting. Since my purchase I've only sharpened it once and that was just to re-profile it. I've retouched the blade edge only twice. The cpm-s110v stays sharp. I have medium sized hands and I feel that the handle is very comfortable. read more The factory G-10 scales combined with the finger choil makes it hard for the knife to slip out of your hands when cutting. The iconic Spyderco hole is a godsend when working with gloves on. Extremely satisfied with Spyderco and paramilitary 2.

I've had this knife for over 2 years. It has an incredible action, great edge geometry and holds an incredible edge. You really can't beat the compression lock. This knife is also a great slicer since it is very thin behind the edge and a far amount of belly. The blue color is more like indigo. A deep carry pocket clip, standard, would be great but you can buy an after market clip read more for $25 to $40.

I received this (with some strong hinting) for my birthday this year. I had never owned a Spyderco Folder before. This instantly replaced my previous EDC. I like it so much I'm hinting at the matching Para 3 for Christmas.

I watched a ton of videos and read a ton of reviews raving about this knife before I bought mine, and I have to say that they are not wrong! I absolutely love this knife and carry it in my pocket every day. I own several other knives and none of them stack up to this one. The size and ergonomics are perfect, it just lands right where I want it in my hand. It opens and closes smoothly read more with one hand. I constantly play with the compression lock, because it just so fun to flick open and closed. Holds an edge for a really long time, and is not hard to sharpen. I cannot say enough good things about this perfect knife!

I love this knife, and have EDC it for about a year. The one handed action is great. I mean who can complain with the compression lock? The blade has amazing sharpness retention, but the steel is very brittle, and will chip easily. I will for sure be purchasing another PM2 at sometime in my life!

I got this knife as a gift for myself getting a new job, im an engineer/design manager, and I love it! I've meant to review it but the video the guys put up recently on YouTube gave me the motivation to tell everyone that it's an awesome blade. Fits the pocket perfectly and having xxl hands, the larger handle is amazing. Blurple is an eye catcher and I've got plenty of compliments read more on it. S110v is an amazing steel, ive heard people complain that it chips easily compared to s30v or even s90v, but I haven't had any problems with moderate use up to this point. A couple of years ago I saw a man buying a bottle of wine for his daughter and told me that he will drink this bottle of wine with her when she will be old enough. I search for a long time before I came across the paramilitary 2 with the blue/purple handle and the s110v steel... I chose this knife for many reasons beside his superb appearance... I wanted a knife that can last a life long period and will remain ideally a classic looking blade… also I wanted that if for any reason we need to repair the knife we can send it back to the company and they will help us to repair the knife… finally I wanted something that is well suited for an all-around EDC knife… I only hope know that my son will like it and that one day he will appreciate that little story in a couple of years.

S110V is new to me and I was concerned the steel would be too difficult to sharpen and that it might be what some on various forums say "chippy". Now after several months of use I can say those concerns have been dispelled. This is an excellent steel with wonderfully high edge retention and sharpens easily read more as long as you use the right equipment and develop some modicum of skill, which is not difficult. On the other hand, if you don't wish to invest in proper sharpening gear and develop the minimal sharping skills, then you might wish to move on.

Great EDC

Great knife for the average person. It's lightweight, one-hand operational, and the steel keeps an edge for quite a while. It also totes a very smooth action, an additional finger choil, and it comes in Ben Blue! However, the blade is thin and tapers to a very fine point, so don't be prying with it. Overall though, a great knife!

Best Knife Under $200, Period!

Perfect in hand, especially if you're a big guy like me. Not too heavy, carries well, and super fast and smooth to deploy, especially with the finger flick. Locks up solid with no blade play. Wanted this PM2 for the steel. S110V sharpens well if you have the right skills, or a good system. I used the KME, and it's razor sharp and retains the edge for a very long time. If I had to read more choose only 1 knife to keep from my collection, this would be it.

Very nice knife with very few downsides

I love my paramilitary 2. The edge retention is stellar. The action is acceptable out of box though I'm hoping it gets better as it ages. I did replace the picket clip with a custom one. I've never had a compression lock knife but it is definitely a secure lock up. It's so secure that sometimes it's actually painful to actuate depending on what way I'm holding it.

Not a wow knife.

This is a fairly light use knife by my standards for a lot of reasons, including blade steel. I would put the overall build quality at Wal Mart levels, ie it is cheap but functional. Yes it works well for box cutting but otherwise reeks of the pedestrian middle class.

This is a large folder

This is my 5th Spyderco. I wanted to get one because of all the positive I have heard and read, as well as it is US made. It's handle is large and the overall look makes it look larger. I had a Military on my wish list but have now I have removed it. I like the Compression Lock. Spyderco's are wonderful ambidextrous knifes. My left hand gets some exercise with knives like this. read more It's very smooth opening and closing. Now I wonder, is my Spyderco collection complete??? LOL

Best of the bunch!

I know. The PM2 is already known as being an amazing EDC knife.
However, I felt it was worth mentioning that this particular PM2 has been the smoothest, and most well put together, of any of the PM2's in my collection. Were every PM2 to leave the Spyderco factory in this kind of excellent condition, then I would attempt owning every variant made.
A+ Spyderco.
A+ BladeHQ

Indigo, people

Sean W.

People, the color between blue and violet is called "indigo". I guess "blurple" is catchier, but come on. BladeHQ didn't do anyone any favors on this one.

Anyway, everything you've read about the PM2 is mostly right. There's some hype, but it's actually a really good knife. In particular, I recommend this version because of the steel. In two years of carrying it inside my read more waistband, it has never dulled or rusted, even when I sweated all over it in the Texas heat. I still haven't had to sharpen it, although my cutting needs are admittedly less strenuous than some folks'.

New favorite knife I own

I dont know where to even start. The locking mechanism is simple perfection. The GRIP. Oh my goodness the grip... AMAZING. The jimping in all the right places, the texture of the G10 handles, and the ergonomic shape of this knife make it so you can have petroleum jelly on your hands and be able to carve with no problem (Which I dont recommend). The blade is super sharp from the read more box. All in all I dont think I own a better EDC. And to top it off, Spydercos warranty is top notch. Spyderco hit it out of the park with this knife. If youre thinking about getting one and are on the fence GET ONE ALREADY.

After waiting many years, I finally treated myself to the blurple PM2 to replace the Griptillian I have been carrying for what seems like forever.
This knife is fantastic! It is lightweight, came super sharp, amazing ergonomics, super steel blade, deploys smooth and has no blade play in either direction.
Great upgrade!

Best Spyderco IMHO

This knife is absolute perfection. Stainless steel that takes an amazing edge and retains that edge for a VERY long time. I have many $200+ knives but this one is almost always my choice to carry. If I could only own one knife, this would be it! Prefer the S110V over Maxamet and second only to Micro-Melt PMA11. Please Spyderco use the PMA11 in a Paramilitary!!!

Love the knife

The very modern looking Paramilitary 2 has become something of an old standard in the folding knife world. It's a great all around knife and there is little that I could add to what's already been said.

I absolutely love the Blurple scales. It is easily my favorite color of G10 but may not be for everyone. It pops. Buyers whould probably know that there is some variation read more of transparency in the scale material which leads to darker and brighter shades of purple from knife to knife. I've found that the more opaque G10 appears brighter while the more transparent G10 is darker, particularly in areas where the liners are skeletonized. I prefer the brighter/more opaque scales myself.

This is a tip-top shelf blade steel. Very similar to S90V but more corrosion resistant and even more edge retention. It does everything but sharpen easily, so be warned that you may want to upgrade to some diamond plates if you choose not to just send it in for Spyderco to touch up. The good thing is that it will be quite some time before it becomes even remotely dull.

No Complaints. Spyderco, More Blurple Please.

My EDC is this knife. First Spyderco I've owned and the fit/ergonomics of the handle and blade are outstanding! The compression lock is up there with the Axis lock on the Benchmade, but I think this one is just a bit easier to use one handed. The S110V steel stays sharp a long time, but will take a little longer to hone than the S30V.

Great design

This knife is the only knife I own out of 10 that has ZERO side to side play and ZERO up and down play and still free drop when closes. In fact it even swings to a stop. My only complaint is the hitting of the finger choil hits my index finger when closing sometimes and keeps it from closing the first time.

Worth it

It was a great purchase I still can believe the price. Blade hq is my favorite knife retailer and they always have awesome customer service!! Thanks guys I’m in love with this knife!!

Can't deny the quality of a spyderco pm2 but for me the S110v is to chippy and brittle. Holds an edge for a long time but it just is fragile. Not as hard use as the s30 version but still a great design. More or a cutter than a work horse do all imho

First Para2

Miguel G.

This was my first paramilitary 2. S110v is incredible at how long it holds a edge. It's also tougher than I expected. I use my knives pretty heavily. I use them where I should really be using utility knives. I've hit staples and nails while using the knife, I didn't damage the edge quite as bad. Sharpening is little slower but still not a problem with some diamond stones.

Beautiful knife. Super sharp out of the box and great ergonomics. Centering is a little off out of the box, favoring the presentation side. Used it to cut some cardboard and it sliced through it like butter.

This was my first $100+ knife in my collection, and boy did I choose a good one. I've been carrying it for about 6 months now, I've put a titanium pocket clip on it, and it is my favorite knife, even though it is no longer my most expensive. Great price for a great knife.

Its kinda just perfect. My first PM2 I chose to get the good steel. great color and I use it very often. S110v has been amazing. I have not had to resharpen, just a little strop here and there

My baseline for comparisons

Case D.

This is one my fondest knives. I'm always comparing it to others, seeing whether I like the lock like I do this one, seeing if the steel is as functional, etc. I especially love the action and the lock on this thing. The compression lock is my absolute favorite locking mechanism. I've tried plenty of them (Axis Lock, Back Lock, Liner Lock, Frame Lock), and I can say without a doubt read more that the compression lock is the most pleasurable to use. The color of the G10 scales is very distinct, and the texture is rough but not enough to hurt your hand. The blade steel is overall great, but not my favorite. I can't really say what I don't like about it. It just doesn't really strike me with a certain property the way other high-end steels do, so I'd say that it is great all around. Overall, this knife is truly my most dependable folder.

Putting S110V on the PM2 made an already great knife even better.
The “blurple” scales look great, knife is just like its contemporaries for fit and finish.
If you do a lot of cutting daily, this is your knife.

Took about 15 minutes to break in. It will now fall shut. Compression lock is a great thing. Deadly sharp, sexy colors and great ergonomics. The tip comes to a needle point so be wary if you plan on prying at all (which you should never do!) All in all I do recommend. How ever if you're looking to save 100$ just buy the Ontario rat 1, it's ergonomics are just as good if not better read more because the rounded off scales.

The best, without hesitation

Years after it's release, other companies are still chasing the PM2. I own many ZT, BM and MT knives, but this knife captures what those companies haven't figured out yet. Make a super sexy knife that can be EDC, emergency tactical, lightweight/simple, small in the pocket but large in the hand, and AFFORDABLE. The PM2 strikes the balance between all of these quite gracefully, which read more is why it is such a homerun. Blurple and S110V is just a bonus! But I like using different steels based in different day-to-day situations. Make a DLC version of this and I will buy 3 I-kid-you-not.

I'm patiently waiting for Spyderco to update the PM1 to make it tip-up. Being a stronger blade geometrically, the PM1 fits the only role that the PM2 falls short, and that is very hard use. Be careful you don't chip the delicate tip on your PM2.

If you're considering Para2 or Para3 - start with Para2

This folder is so sweet. The color is beautiful. I started with Para3, then got Military4, and lastly this. Love the Military in G10, but for rotation EDC, I prefer the Para2 to Para3. It's a tough call since the para3 is lighter, but this blue American beauty feels so nice in the hand, and deploys effortlessly from from tip down carry. Solid no-play lockup and construction. Hope read more this helps! E

This is not only my first PM2 but it's my first Spyderco in general and I have to say I'm in love. It's larger than I thought it would be which is good, it's exceptionally well put together, and it is wicked sharp out of the box. It feels really good in your hand and is a stable cutter. It's exceptionally well put together for the cost of much lesser knife. After sitting on the read more fence for years, I'm 100% sold on the PM2.

I own two S-30v Paramilitary 2s and they are by far some of my most favorite EDCs in my collection. I didn't think it could get any better but the S-110v is a beautiful and amazing upgrade. It's an amazing knife and still after years the PM2 is one of the best EDCs to ever be presented.

Spyderco does it right!

Wells B.

Back in college, I went through a short phase of compulsive knife-buying, starting with a Benchmade 950 Rift and followed shortly after by 6 or 7 ZT folders. Back then, I thought bigger knives were cool and couldn't understand why other dudes (like Nutnfancy) got off on light blades.
After graduating and getting married, my wife and I went through a period of financial strain read more and away the knife collection went. Fast forward to 2.5 years later.

Nutnfancy's love affair with and praise for Spyderco blades drew me in, as he often says, like a tractor beam. My lust over Spyderco blades has since been made stronger by the fact that their corporate headquarters is within 15 minutes of my home in Lakewood, Colorado.

Within the last year or so, my financial situation took a turn for the better and I can now afford to buy knives whenever I want.
My first Spyderco was the Manix 2 in blurple, followed by my most recent purchase, the PM2 in blurple. These two knives stoke me to no end. The fit and finish is as good as or better than any other production folder I've ever owned, including the $300 ZT blades. These two blades take it a step further by offering best-in-class ergos and gimping and are beautifully put together.
I'm very confident in saying that you will love this knife, and I challenge any of you to find a sub-$200 knife with the attention to detail and quality of my beloved Blurple PM2.
If you want a high-end production knife but you don't want to pay the entry fee of other companies (i.e., Benchmade, ZT, etc.), check out the Spydie PM2 and Manix2 in the s110v blurple configuration. You'll freaking love them.

As a special note, I do like Benchmade and ZT knives, but the Spyderco PM2 takes the cake.
